Hrithik ditches Mumbai, backs Rajastan

Rajastan Royals, winners of the inaugural Indian Premiere League, have signed on Hrithik Roshan to promote their team and appear in a music video alongside good friend Shilpa Shetty.

It seems like the poor performance of Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai Indians in IPL 2008, has forced the change. Says a source close to the star “Hrithik was on a one year contract with the Mumbai cricket team. When approached for a renewal, the actor refused, citing date issues as he was busy with his film ‘Kites’.”

But on request by Shilpa Shetty, who has a stake in the Royals, Hrithik agreed and was signed on.

Things are looking good for the Rajastan Royals, with Hrithik’s backing and brilliance on field, they would probably be the team that would rake in the moolah this year, i.e IF the government clears the new IPL schedule.
