In what should immensely please the industry, the men and women behind Housefull and not to mention Akshay Kumar fans, Sajid Khan’s Housefull has truly lived upto its title. The much awaited Monday figures are out and the film has done excellent business all over.
While the collections are nowhere close to those recorded by 3 Idiots during its weekdays, Housefull has managed a healthy 5 crores on Monday. Tuesday too the collections were steady. An average of 4 – 4.5 crores everyday from Tuesday should see the film adding 12 – 14 crores, taking its overall Week 1 collections to somewhere in the 48 – 50 crores range. Its fairly safe to now call the film a HIT, first for Akshay in over a year after under performers like Chandni Chowk to China, Tasveer 8×10, Kambakht Ishq, Blue and De Dana Dan.
There is competition in Week 2 though, Shahid Kapoor’s Badmaash Company and Priyadarshan’s Bumm Bumm Bole (starring Darsheel Safary) releases this weekend and the two films should dent the collections of Housefull. Although even a drop of 60-65% would take the film beyond the 70 crore mark.
Can Housefull beat My Name Is Khan and go on to be the biggest grosser of the year? Seems likely, let’s wait and watch

when amir’s movie came,people started compare with srk,
when akhi’s movie came,people started compare with srk,
when salman’s movie came,people started compare with Srk,
so it’s look whole bollywood 1 side and srk is 1 side,
so it’s clear srk is the best, bcz best r always being compared,
akki is back after a year….
but didnt like the film much. i found cc2c better.
its stupidness :no body compares any movie with specifically SRK movie. it is compared to highest grossers

I m big fan of srk,but i also like akhi and salman,
but akhi is not the true king of bollywood,
a king never done flop and badwas moives like 8×10 tasver.
on the otherhand srk is giving big hit moives evry year.
akhi sud do housfull type and emotional movies.

and in billu,dulha mil gaya he was not lead actor.
u also mension some old moives when they both were struggling.
whatever, ur looking big fan of akhi
but u believe it or not fan following of srk is much bigger then akhi,
not only indian’s but also other countries people like him very much,
he is international king.
this film is not doing well dont go by the media reports .. the collections have dropped heavily ..all in all its a failed film
