It was touted to be the month of sequels, but the announcement of ‘Dear Zindagi’ for November 25, a date which was earlier taken by ‘Kahaani 2’ – made it a month dominated by sequels / franchise films, with ‘Dear Zindagi’ being the only other major release.
Let’s take a look at some of the major release in November 2016:
Rock On 2: The first release of November is the sequel to the 2008 film, Rock On!!, a film that worked with a small section of the audience. The new member of the cast is Shraddha Kapoor, the film has a new director too in Shujaat Saudagar. But with less than 5 days to go for release, there is hardly any real interest to watch it in theatres. Rock On 2 will be word of mouth dependent. FBO: 5.5 crore. LBO: 28 crore.
Force 2: The John Abraham starrer has the potential to be the 2nd highest opener of November, mainly because the timing of release is perfect and the trailer has managed to generate quite a bit of interest. However, John’s last film ‘Rocky Handsome’ opened poorly at the box office even though it released on ‘Good Friday’ holiday. FBO: 7.9 crore. LBO: 43 crore.
Tum Bin 2: It’ll be a clash of two franchise films as ‘Tum Bin 2’ will take on ‘Force 2’ at the box office, but both films are targeted at different audience. Not many remember the first film ‘Tum Bin’ which released in 2001 and some people who do, remember the film for its music. There is hardly any buzz, but the costs are on the lower side. Anubhav Sinha returns as director 5 years after ‘Ra One’. FBO: 2.6 crore. LBO: 12 crore.
Dear Zindagi: It’s by far the biggest release of the month. The two promos have been liked and Alia Bhatt sharing screen-space with Shah Rukh Khan will generate a lot of interest. The film also marks the returns of ‘English Vinglish’ director Gauri Shinde and if her second film is as good as her film, it should be the biggest hit of the month too. Shah Rukh’s presence will add a lot of value at ‘Tier 2’ cities as well. FBO: 11.6 crore. LBO: 76 crore.
There are other smaller releases as well. Saansein – The Last Breath, Chaar Sahibzaade – Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, 30 Minutes, Dongri Ka Raja, Yeh Hai Lollipop – all with Rock On 2 on November 11.
Note: The final FBO prediction will be made on Thursday (a day before release) and LBO prediction on Sunday morning (or two days after release).

November is looking quite dull . Force 2 and Dear Zindagi both are looking exciting as of now . Rock On 2 is looking a lost cause as the trailer and the songs have been below par . Tum Bin was really good and had some terrific songs . Tum Bin 2 is looking boring because of Bad casting and poor trailer . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Zindagi will be the surprise Blockbuster of 2016
Rather than wasting money on the november releases, it would be wise to watch Dangal at least two times. I’m sure it’ll be that good!

It will be a dull month for exhibitors. RockOn2 is carrying no buzz, nor is TumBin2 (except few songs). Dear Zindagi has two of the top actors and actress in industry today, but it has limited appeal, mostly in metro cities, will depend on word-of-mouth to collect anywhere close to 100 cr. Force 2, again has limited interest and John isn’t bankable enough right now.
Dear zindagi has to be really good to be biggest hit of nov 16.. As fan was also hyped by Most critics but audience response was quite the opposite. Srk as good as he maybe he lacks the starpower of a Salman Khan & Aamir Khan who can turn a average movie into a blockbuster just with their screen presence.
Hope nobody gives fake collection of their movies like Ajay Devgn did.. Waiting for Force 2, Dear Zindagi and Kahaani 2

@Ally8795-Lallu has so good screen presence and stardom that he never tried offbeat films in his lifetime. Oops no, sorry, he tried in Marigold and the result…….!!! Even he rejected Chak De!India saying it was not the type of commercial cinema that he does.But oh I forgot, he can’t act, but for doing films like CHak De, Dear Zindagi etc you need to know acting!!! For 24 years now, no matter if his films were flops or blockbusters, in every article, statement SRK dominates most extreme reactions. Some call it arrogance, some cheapness, some devotion. Another thing, SRK has been one with whom everyone is ultimately compared:
1. Salman Khan-Bigger than Messi-Ronaldo, SRK-Salman fanwar is the biggest since 90s. Its reached peak after Ek Tha Tiger, Don vs Jaaneman.
2. Aamir Khan-Remeber that Dog incident!!Some bhaifans idiotically spread false rumors that in 90s srk said to destroy Aamir blah blah which is absolutely false. Then there comes the reference of openings, Raam Jane vs AHAT clash, Ghajini, 3 idiots, dhoom3 being ATBBrs to break CE, records of DDLJ, award shows, taking 4 yea etc etc. However things are improving between SRKians and Aamirians. Its mostly the industry insiders who create rifts.
3. Ajay Devgn-AD likes to release his films on Deewali though in terms of stardom he has only 2-3 double digit openers acc to boi and indicine . SRK had been dominating that weekend. They have clashed twice(Baazigar vs Bedardi, SOS vs JTHJ). Also AD fans do chaplusi of Salman fans, biggest SRKians rivals
4. Akki-Both SRK and Akki are outsiders. But certain fans target each others and fight. Few bhaifans in disguise+others mostly abuses SRK in indicine. It hurts to see fan of 2 self made superstars fight. Fan vs HF3 opening this year and the 2007 battle, Don-Jaaneman, CE refernce are common. They fight on stupid old issues.
5. HR-HR was called the new SRK in 2000 after KNPH released by a paper. There is Raees vs Kaabil happening, u know now!!!!!
