Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala has turned out to be a huge disappointment at the box office in it’s opening weekend. The film has collected Rs 27 crores in it’s first 3 days, which is way below expectations for a film released on 3200 screens including two holidays for Good Friday and Sunday.
The response has been poor all over. Even at mass centres like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan, there was a steady decline in business from Friday afternoon onwards.
Himmatwala Box Office Collections (Day wise)
- Friday – 11 crore
- Saturday – 7.5 crore (31% drop)
- Sunday – 8.5 crore (13% growth)
- Total Weekend Collections – 27 crore
A further crash in business is expected on Monday and the film might actually struggle to cross the 50 crore mark. A tweet from Ram Gopal Varma sums up the response to the film “Dont know what to feel about this message I got.. RGV KI AAG seems like a cult classic compared to SAJID KHAN KI HIMMATWALA”
Sad for Ajay, but happy for Sajid’s arrogance.
Taran Adarsh says it has collected around 31 crore in the weekend. Have those 3 crores been returned to public?

I am the luckiest person in the world. Because i didn’t watch Himmatwala yet. Himmatwala IMDB rating is 2.3/10. It will surely beat RGV ki Aag record(2.2/10).

A. These things are impossible to tell before release as it depends on content but looking at the potential opening it has very good chances of emerging his biggest grosser.

AD made a mistake by not clashing it with CE…atleast it would have earned few crores just the way SOS did…….clash with King is hell lot of publicity for others……

Acc.to boi himmatwala has picked up significantly this and morning shows were having prety decent occupancies of 80% at single screens n 60% at multiplex.the final collection are estimated to come around 16-20 crores and first week will finish at 70-80 crores bcz word of mouth frm audience is extremely positive.
Sajad khan again was seen this afternoon shouting at balcony that its audience tat matters..n is optimistic abt hmtwala finishing in top 3 ths year.
