Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN takes the 3rd spot in the highest Monday collections of 2016, behind the Monday business of Akshay Kumar’s Airlift and The Jungle Book.
However, since it was a big film released on 3500 screens with plenty of shows at multiplexes, FAN had to be at around Airlift’s level on Monday.

Down goes the “superstar”…End of the glorious era…As indicine puts it across die-hard fans still love him and will go for any movie of his, neutral ones have lost trust…For any superstar as big as Srk, Salman, to cross 200 or even more you need neutral folks to watch your films…without them you can’t give blockbusters…record breaking movies from Srk are difficult now…Ironical is that he had the most consistent run of any superstar but he bites the dust while the remaining still survive (And now I feel even Akshay will outlive Srk, while Salman will be way too ahead)

That’s quite a big drop from Sunday. Once again it’s proven that reviews by critics don’t matter much, the fate is on audience’s hand. SRK did well as Gaurav, his fans might have enjoyed it as well, but it was always going to be difficult to please neutrals by making the film all about SRK and his fans. I don’t think it was good idea for SRK to play a fan of himself. They also revealed the whole storyline in the promos, audience knew what they were going to see. Now, it could have been a good move if they kept Gaurav turning into a baddie as a surprise.
Just 1 question, as you have written earlier that overall cost of production was 105 crore without SRK’s fee, so was SRK supposed to get a share in profit or he took the amount they got from the satellite right?

Indicine,B positive…simply agree with fact that Fan was not upto the mark not even in India but all over the world as regional films are performing better than overseas…publish an article to highlight the Mighty Khans not to disgrace them like this just because Fan failed…tell me how Ready became a Big Blockbuster in non-holiday period and broke many records…at today’s time it’s collection will b 200 cr nett for sure in India…that also with mixed reviews….
This film contains only Srk ,no song no heroine no villain nothing !! so collection toh aisa hi hoga !!aur ye bohot hai !! I bet no actor can do this !!

I have seen articles stating the biggest opening of xyz year, highest weekend collections of abc years, but have never seen an article stating the rankings based on a particular weekday (e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc).

Srk fans blame Jungle Book for the debacle of FAN, according to them FAN collection is low because there is a clash with Jungle Book (which release 1 week before FAN just like Baahubali release 1 week before Bajrangi Bhaijaan).
Ok we agree with your point so it means that Srk lost another clash and this time he lost against a 10 year old kid…I hope Srk fans agree with me and they won’t take a U turn again…

In the whole drama leading to Fan debacle, it surprised me how indicine was rooting for Fan. As a website it is supposed to be unbiased !
Not just indicine the media houses were rooting for SRK. The fact is fan lifetime close to Kapoor and sons is really one of the worst by any leading star in recent years. Brothers with negative reviews was trashed by media while fan with its IMDb and biased reviews by likes of Taran Komal as well as indicine is crawling at box office ! Srks total of dilwale and fan will be less than BB by 75-80 crores
Fan is not a comercial film. So monday collection is not that bad tuesday is also looking in the same range which is good. Without any music and leading lady still the weekend was big. Fan is for fans not for boxoffice. According boi it is already commercially saved movie. Srk proved once again when it comes to acting he is way ahead.
