I have watched Sultan on wednesday in single screen cinema. I don’t have huge expectation from sultan as i found trailer is like just a regular Salman movie but the film surprised me.
First time i found that Salman has work hard for any movie in his career. Right from the personality to mannerism, comical and sincere, emotions he simply nailed it in the film. Sultan is by far the best performance of Salman since Dabangg (Chulbul Pandey).
People were thinking that Ali Abbas jafar is not a good director but for me he was. I liked both of his earlier movies MBKD & Gunday. Both were good one time watch but in Sultan he surprised me the most. Very few director can convince Salman to work against in his confort zone but he did with Sultan. Story,screenplay and dialogues are were brilliant. His direction was absolute engaging and moving.
Anushka was fab in the movie, she caught brilliant Hariyanvi accent. I found her accent on hariyanvi better than Salman in the movie and unlike many salman movie this time female character has meatier role and she did justice to her character brilliantly.
Randeep hooda was fab in special appearance. Amit Saadh and the guy who played Sultan’s friend character were great too.
Both first and second half of the movie is engaging barring some songs in first half. Actions scenes for wrestling and MMA were brilliantly shoot. Music is decent.
For me Sultan is a better movie than Bajrangi Bhaijaan as its both half are entertaining while BB lacks in first half. But BB is a classic because of the theme of the film and its a movie that one can watch again and again due to brilliant second half but Sultan is lacks repeat watch.
That could be the reason it can be behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan at box office.
Sultan is very satisfying first watch for me and thankfully i watch it in single screens cinema instead of pirated version.
