Happy Ending is out of most theatres, but continues to play on limited shows at multiplexes. After a disastrous first week at the box office, the film has collected around 0.75 crore in two days in its second weekend.
Happy Ending is by far the biggest disaster of 2014. The makers will end up losing around 40 crore of their investment. The film will finish with lifetime business of 22 crore.

@gj007, ‘all time disaster’ is often used in the trade for films that perform so badly that it fails to even recover advertising and release costs. Game, Khelein Hum Je Jaan Se, Drona, Tezz are some of them.
Releasing a film is always a huge gamble. No one knows what will work. Even Andaz Apna Apna, now considered one of the best comedy films of all time, was theatrically a flop film.
Ungli is also likely to be a disaster, but costs were around 27 cr. Returns theatrically will be 9-10 cr. Happy Ending was significantly higher at 65 cr. Returns of less than 11 cr.

Yup, I knew AAA was a box office dud. Aamir had in fact clarified that the movie got washed out on the first Sunday itself. The film got no promotion, was released when piracy was on all time high and even critics had panned it.
Given the fact that both Salman and Aamir weren’t superstars at that time, nothing worked for the movie. But it’s sad they use “all time disaster” word for such movies. Hopefully Phantom will erase these memories.

the theme, but it focuses more on cricketer’s
life, which is difficult to capture.
Talking about the biopic, Emraan told
reporters: “The research encompasses
speaking to Azhar bhai on anecdotes and
moments from his life. He has probably led
the most exciting life that any sportsperson
could have.”
“Since it is extremely tough to capture his
life in a two and a half hours’ film, there is a
lot of planning we have undergone. The film
may have sports as a theme, but it is more
about his life.”
