Great Grand Masti is the big release this week and the film has been in news for all the wrong reasons. Previously, the Indra Kumar sex comedy was scheduled to release in theatres on July 22, but was preponed at the very last moment, because a copy of the film leaked onto the internet.
The last film that suffered because of a internet leak, was Balaji’s own film ‘Udta Punjab’. But the controversy negated the impact of piracy and the film went on to become a decent grosser.
The impact of piracy on ‘Great Grand Masti’ is going to be bigger because the film was out nearly a week before its theatrical release. Also. word hasn’t yet spread that the film is releasing in theatres tomorrow. To add to it, a successful film like ‘Sultan’ will be running in its second week, which has made it even more difficult for ’Great Grand Masti’ to get a good single-screen release.

Lifetime – 32 crs.
Sorry, but this movie will be the last movie of the franchise.
If there had been no piracy , then the collections would have been around 60 crs.
Mohenjodaro should open at around 17crs at least and should touch 100 crs in week 1 , in order to recover it’s costs.

mohenjodaro needs to shift asap for their own well being.Theirs is a film which need to score big in order to recover costs…Since rustom trailer and songs are well received i dont see mjo getting more than 2700-2800 screens same count on which bajirao released and that film with exceptional wom scored 180 in xmas period.. so i cant see mjo score more than 140cr anfe go forbids if rustom is better product it will be dooms day for them

@indicine really controversy neglected the impact of piracy like really?the piracy literally ruined the business of UdtaPunjab by 25-30% that is why after getting a good weekend and opening with positive WOM the growth would have been there and it would have easily be super hit by crossing 80cr, the trailer was spread by everyone on social media cause of everyone was aware when it leaked and it was the controversy cause of which everyone what he’d the movie in piracy out of curiosity so the piracy ruined whatever the buzz UdtaPunjab got also check the viewership on that site it leaked had 7cr within 2 days and if 7cr viewers downloaded it then they must have shared it to a lot of friend and I am not saying that all the 7cr people would have watched the movie no but at least if 3% out of those 7cr people would have watched it in theatre which would have resulted in 20cr businee more which cause the WOM was positive but cause everyone by then have watched that movie that is why the business didn’t grow and it restricted the film to be super hit.

Let me tell all,I’m a big fan of these three guy’s friendship(Aftab+Ritesh+Vivek).I just salute to them how they acted in MASTI.MASTI will be always will remembered as most beautiful comedy movie of all time for me,close to my heart forever.
though I didn’t like Grand masti that much because of vulgarity.but whenever I watched those three guys dancing in songs in MASTI,Grand MASTI I not only enjoyed but also felt sad.
Because It reminds me of my Coolest friends during my Engineering career how we enjoyed through out.hopefully I could have danced in the same manner with my friends just like how these 3(AFTAB,RITESH,VIVEK) dances.I really jealous of their on-screen friendship that they have been keep showing from MASTI to go now.

And surely It’ll thrash a non actor’s mahacrap like phultan,that my heart says.so keep spreading negativity like online leaking ,bad movie blah blah.If It’s entertain like Grand Masti,then phultan will be a wash out for sure and GGM will again head towards 100cr.
But music may affect,but if story is entertaining ten GGM will destroy phultan with out any doubt though phultan already destroyed with out holiday and failed to beat Amir’s 3 year before Dhoom3,rofl.
I have seen the movie and should say am very disappointed with this one bcs I liked the 2ND and 1St part but this one is the mixture of 1920 and kya Kool hai hum and is a waste of time and money if it wouldnt have been leaked iam sure it would still be floped
