Indra Kumar’s Grand Masti was rock-steady on its second day, as the film collected Rs 13.25 crore at the domestic box office. The sex comedy that has clicked big-time with the youth, has collected Rs 25.75 crore in two days.
The film is likely to collect around 40 crores in its first weekend, and could finish its first week with business in excess of 50 crores. Grand Masti is set to be the highest grossing Vivek Oberoi film in less than 3 days – the actor’s previous biggest grosser was Shootout At Lokhandwala which collected 30.25 crores way back in 2007.
The first two day business of Grand Masti is also higher than much bigger releases like Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara and Satyagraha – both films featuring much bigger stars.
Like Chashme Baddoor earlier this year, Grand Masti has yet again proved that if a film is well-packed and promoted, it doesn’t really need a major star to bring audiences to theatres.
