Grand Masti has taken a flying start at the box office on Friday. Several exhibitors have reported that the film is running to full houses for the morning shows, which is a rarity for films that don’t feature one of the top 5 stars.
The makers couldn’t have timed the film’s release better as Chennai Express is nearing the end of its release, Satyagraha failed after its first week and Zanjeer is one of the biggest disasters in recent times (already out of most theatres too). The only film that Grand Masti competes against this week is Shuddh Desi Romance, but the Indra Kumar sex-comedy has wider appeal especially at smaller centres / single screen audience.
There are two other releases this week – John Day and Horror Story – both have taken a slow start at the box office.
Grand Masti could well do business of Rs 10 crore on its opening day, but a lot would depend on how well the film sustains for the evening / night shows. Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, last year, also opened well but slowed down towards the end of the day, as family audiences tend to stay away from sex-comedies. The film took a 65% opening and did net business of Rs 6.5 crore on Day 1.
10 crores means it is more than expectation.
And ramcharan is not suitable for bollywood movies.didnt like his face expression.but PC was superb.

So it has been proved if when ritesh has better star pull than ajay akshay emraan.
okay movie wasnt great but i agree that ritesh is crowd puller and soon he will be the next govinda for his comic timing. this guy is slowly but surely making steady progress in his career.
