The clash between two of the biggest films of 2017 is now official. The makers of Shankar’s ambitious sci-fi film ‘Robot 2.0’ have officially announced the release date of the Rajnikanth – Akshay Kumar starrer. The film will hit theatres during the Diwali 2017 weekend.
Earlier, Rohit Shetty had announced the fourth instalment in the super-popular ‘Golmaal’ series for Diwali. The film features Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra in the lead.
The clash between the two films could well be one of the biggest the industry has ever seen, as the ‘Golmaal’ series has a huge following. In terms of star cast and budget it cannot get bigger than ‘Robot 2.0’.
Interestingly, back in 2010 when ‘Golmaal 3’ released, it was Ajay taking on Akshay in a one-sided clash with ‘Action Replayy’ succumbing to the popularity of the Golmaal series on the first day itself. This time, the two are more evenly matched. ‘Golmaal Again’ will be decimated in the south, but it’ll be interesting to see which film comes out on top in other parts of the country.
The other question is, whether Rohit and Ajay will think about postponing their film to a different date, as a film like ‘Robot 2.0’ could make a huge dent on the business of ‘Golmaal Again’ in states like Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Obviously I am going to see 2.0 in Diwali next year not because ofjust I am an Akshay Kumar fan but also because of the scale and special effects of 2.0. Films like Golmaal 4 can easily be seen on television or mobile. BAAHUBALI & 2.0 should be watched in theatres.

Golmaal 4 should be preponed on sep 1 since there is no film releasing on that date so that it can get bakrid advantage on sep 2. And speaking of robot 2 it should get solo diwali release.

Let me try my best and be neutral here. 1st of all I have no personal grudge it Ajay nor am I a very big fan of him. Agreed multiple National award winner and a terrific actor yes I can call him a superstar but a lesser commercial superstar so I am fair here.
Secondly I disagree with @Challa and my advice is he keeps his personal grudge to himself because its very obvious from his comments he is missing some things.
1. Shivaay was announced much earlier as a solo release for Diwali 2. G4 too was announced much more earlier than Robot 2 but it was not a guarantee solo. Being honest again looking at all the superstars clashes in last 10 years for Diwali its Ajay that has come ahead in all the clashes with spacy footfalls and distribution gap.
Listen no matter how we shout Akshay and Ajay have mutual respect for eachother we Akkians true ones inside know abusing Ajay solves no problem, Akki fans are seriously misunderstood especially when people like Challah start commenting and many Srk fans people think its Akki fans stooping so low. We Akkians are proud fans and to be honest have wider fans in India central compared to Srk. Fact . Those calling Shivaay fans collection first day are all fans of someone whose Manipulation is 10* more than Ajay. My only request to Ajay is for him to talk to Rohit since its Ajay that has the final say in most Ajay Rohit movies as Rohit has already attested. Give Robot 2 a solo release while G4 I believe can do well on any given day so its a plea not a frustrated way of making people think we are challenging g4. Respect the fact it was earlier announced so nothing wrong telling Ajay Rohit to adjust their release date. Am a big fan of gmall series so let’s not spoil anyone’s hard work and once again Ajay fans and his supporters 70% of negative comments are from Srk camps that’s their job after seeing their hero ridiculed by the Khans and looking very easy to be displaced by Akki Hrithik by 2017.
