Gautam Gulati to play Ravi Shashtri in Azhar biopic

After releasing the first look of the film in style during the IPL finale this year, Tony D’Souza’s Azhar biopic which is based on the life of great but controversial cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin made another announcement recently. Emraan Hashmi has already been finalized as the lead of the film and has been getting extensive training for the same and now we have hear that Bigg Boss winner Gautam Gulati will be playing the role of cricketer Ravi Shashtri in the film.

A close source from the film said “We needed someone relatively new and more importantly, we needed someone who could play cricket well. Gautam fitted the bill. He has not been seen on the big screen. And he’s a good cricketer, so we don’t need to spend time training him for the field.”

The movie features Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri as the two ladies of Azhar’s life, Naureen and Sangeeta Bijlani. With the addition of Gautam Gulati, the film has become more exciting.
