Gabbar Is Back has collected around Rs 13 crore on its opening day at the box office, as per early estimates based on collections from a few centres. The Akshay Kumar starrer opened well in the morning at single-screens, but multiplexes were off to a slow start.
The film did pick up at multiplexes in the evening, but overall, considering the fact that Friday was a holiday in many states across the country, Gabbar Is Back should have collected around 15-20% more than it did.
Since most films that perform well at single-screens tend to show drops on Saturday, it remains to be seen how well the film holds up today. Business at multiplexes, especially in circuits like Delhi/UP, Mysore, West Bengal, will have to pick up tomorrow for the film to hold on to the same level of business.

Bombay velvet will be average or semi-Hit may be flop also BCz. It has not got good criticts review from audiences moreover its trailer is less liked by audiences then piku gabbar is back etc. Its 1st day box office collection of Bombay velvet is 9-11 crires(approx)

Those who are crying about heavy ticket prices of Khan’s movies.. People are ready to watch their movie even with hiked price… while most of them not interested to see aksay even with normal ticket..
If Akshay begin to hike price then only die hard fans will watch..
Screen counts; It depends on stardom. Distributors know very well how an Akshay movie perform . Large number of screen won’t help..If number increases the revenue/screen decreases..
Festival release.. It’s film industry, not a govt office.. They don’t need to apply for festival release and get it approved…Whenever they want to release they can do…
If he have faith in his movie he should clash…
If it collect enough money the next time when he going to release on a festival period khans may ready to compromise and he will get solo release..
why is everybody saying that akki cant get 15cr..opening..u r fools. everybody r fools…agar khans ki aukaat ho toh saal me 4 filme release karke dikhaye…vo bhi non-holiday…fir dekhte hai kaise unki filme 200- 300 cr.karti hai???while gabbar…is an outstanding film..i watched it in an housefull multiplex…u go for it..dont trust critics..they give films like hny 4/5 stars..so dont believe them
GiB friday collections just 11crs according to BOI :p i didnt find anythng gud in dis mve same as jai ho. Both were same type as social msg through masala genre. Still jai ho collected 17crs despite non holiday n huge affect on northen state by winter.. Bt here GiB got holiday in 7 states (best terretory fr hindi mve) n summer vacations in school n clg so atleast 15+ required. Akki is nt superstar dats proved evry nw rlzs of him. Bombay velvet n ABCD2 will be highest grosser fr first queters.
@sunny i understand your frustration. Akshay can’t give 20 crore even with Eid holiday. And K3 collection is 208 crore. Pls check boi.co.in where hindi version is 198 crore and 10 crore regional. 208 crore is dream for Akki even if he got christmas and 10 open weeks, akki is self destructor with doing bad films. Hrithik is on par with khans and akshay is now behind sid and ranbir. Sid’s ek villain non holiday 16 crore. Hrithik is superstar and akshay was superstar.

Why are some pathetic frustrated Akshay fans bashing Hrithik? Your actor isnt capable of giving a 100 crore grosser, do you think any producer will sign him for a franchise? If Akshay starred in Krrish 3, it would have been a huge flop. Krrish 3 was a blockbuster with major credit to Hrithik. 244 crore is a dream for you Akshay fans.
Mr filmy gyan if u talk about jst abt collections then for your kind information he is the only A-list actor who comes with a movie every quarter and gives much needed money into the bollywood industry which is dry mostly during the year and it takes guts to do so. Go and ask your hritik and khans that if they have guts then do 4 movies a year and make them release not on holidays like eid diwali etc and then we will compare where they stand. The best thing which akshay kumar says that he is what he is because of his fans and if he can do 3-4 movies a year for his fans he would continue to do so as it a tribute for his fans and not like any other actor who just thinks about money and collection and do not give much value to fans…..so better get facts right and compare as at the end of the year he gives more or less same revenue to bollywood as others….its not always money that matters even emotions, feelings and love of fans matter for him!!!!

2) are u talking about profit so let me remind u every movies he is doing made with a whooping budget of 60-70 crores and some of his movies are unable to collect 70 crores..
3) khans does 1-2 movie every year and there profit is double
4) akshay don’t get festival period to release his film just himself knows that if he does and have to clash with mega stars and he smells what will happen to his career

with single star rating by HT it is impossible for 13 cr opening.. max it has done 7 cr as per my estimates..
many will be surprised as there is no buzz in the market.. neither promo neither songs..
it is likely a flop affair but indicine being indicine cannot think bad for any movie .. however the audience may be taken for a ride
