Bollywood welcomed the return of free man Sanjay Dutt, after he was released from the Yerwada Jail in Pune on Thursday morning.
- Soon after exiting the jail, he saluted the national flag of India which was hoisted on top of the Yerwada jail.
- He waited out to the media and fans who had gathered out side the jail. He was received by his family and good friends like Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
- Left Pune and landed in Mumbai at around 11:30AM.
- Salman Khan sends four bodyguards to receive Dutt at the Mumbai airport
- Arrives at the Siddhivinayak Temple at around 12 noon to pray and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.
- Meanwhile, a huge crowd of supporters and fans gather outside his Mumbai residence.
- Dutt now heads to the Badakabristan to visit his mother Nargis’ grave
- Sister Priya Dutt says it’s an emotional day for the family
- Reaches his Imperial Heights residence in Bandra to a hero’s welcome, hundreds of people celebrating on the streets.

- Since 23 years I wanted to be free man and now that the day has arrived, the feeling has not sunk in yet. I am still unable to come to terms with the fact that I am not out on a parole or furlough. I am missing my dad today. His only wish was to see his son free. ad may Father been alive, he would have been the happiest person.
- I love my country and I am proud of it. The country is my motherland, hence I kissed the ground and saluted the national flag on coming out of the jail.
- Manyata is my best half. She has been my pillar of strength throughout, even at times when I have been weak. I have handed over whatever I earned in the jail to her.
- My mother had left us early. It was my duty to tell her that I am a free man. That’s why I went to her grave.
- My biggest relief was when court said ‘you are not a terrorist’. Miss my father who wanted to hear this all his life
