In what seems to be yet another desperate and distasteful attempt at seeking attention, All India Bakchod co-founder Tanmay Bhat finds himself in yet another major controversy.
This time around, for uploading a video that mocks legends like Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar – both holders of India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna.
“Lata tai you are 5,000 years old so stay the phuck out of this.. Your face looks like someone has kept you in water for eight days and Jon Snow died, so you should also die”
He also speaks about the ‘funeral’ of the two.
Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray’s MNS has filed a police complaint against Bhat and threatened violence against any event featuring the stand-up comedian.
The Special Branch of the Mumbai Police is inquiring into the complaint against AIB, DCP, PRO Mumbai Police said.
MNS Chitrapat Sena president Ameya Khopkar told reporters that they plan to thrash him up the moment they see him “Whenever we will see Tanmay, we will beat him. We will not let him do any shows” he said adding that this is beyond politics.
“Some things should be beyond politics. Our agenda is clear. Those who have made videos on Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar should be arrested” he demanded.
However, Tanmay is yet to apologise or express regret. Instead, he continued posting his humorous and sarcastic tweets on his official page.

Tanmay Bhat’s Snapchat video may not be funny but that is no reason to consider it as a national threat – a threat to the legacy of Tendulkar and Mangeshkar, a threat to Marathi culture, a threat to the collective nationalist sentiment of the country.
