Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has gone out of his way to pledge his support for Sarabjit Singh’s release from Pakistan.
Talking to the media, Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur said “I felt really good after talking to Salman Khan. Today we are having a press conference at Raza Murad’s residence at 2 in the afternoon. I came yesterday morning and met Salman Khan yesterday itself. I am sure his initiative will help in release of Sarabjit.”
Dalbir also added that, Salman is very serious about the issue “I am so glad that Salman Khan has taken an initiative on Sarbajit’s issue. Woh kafi gambhir hain iss masle ko lekar (he is serious about the issue). He is not just tweeting, but he is with us until Sarbajit is not released. It’s not that he is just tweeting and leaving the issue unsorted.”
Last week, Salman also appealed to his fans in Pakistan “Requesting the people of Pakistan to support me to help free Sarabjit who has been in prison since 30 yrs. Please.. Allah ka vasta”
On Sunday, he launched an online petition on his Being Human website, for the release of Sarabjit Singh, who has been on a death row in Lahore jail since 1990.
