Aamir Khan’s Dangal is likely to beat the superstar’s last film ‘PK’ which is currently the fastest film to cross the 300 crore mark. In 2014, PK became the first film to cross the 300 crore milestone, it also managed to do so in just 17 days – a record which still stands today.
The next film to 300 crore was Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a Kabir Khan – Salman Khan film that crossed the milestone 20 days after its theatrical release.
Salman’s last film Sultan was the fastest to touch 200 crore, but took more than a month – 35 days to be specific – to cross 300.
Given the strong trend of Dangal, the film should be Aamir Khan’s 2nd film in the 300 crore club in just 13 days.

Dangal is a superb movie based on sports and women empowerment unlike Sultan which was a crap and totally masala movie.

Aamir did not go to TV shows, interviews and paid awards. No carpet bomb marketing was done. There is cash crunch due to Demonetization.
Unknown Director, actors, real treatment to story, no melodrama and over the top acting like Sultan, No one man show in film, Absence of top actress, Director etc. So many factors….
SRK and Salman go all over media to promote their films. For Raees, SRK is doing two episodes of BIG BOSS with Salman. SRK needs Salman to promote his films. SRK and SK work with only big directors, big actresses, abroad locations, blockbuster music.

Aamir’s worst phase was in 90s. But even then he had 2 HGOTYs, your SRK is struggling to give it today. U have not seen Aamir movies like Rangeela, AHAT, Sarfarosh etc. In 90s Aamir was experimenting with movies/genre ahead of their time. All these movies were classics. From 2002-2004 he had no single release. He dared to do a movie like Dil Chahta Hai, appealing to 3 cities youths only and its a classic today. He didnt do Darr because he was unhappy with casting, Divya Bharati-Juhi Chawla issues etc.
But your srk didnt have guts to play RDB, Lagaan, 3 idiots.

Yes, Aamir doesn’t promote, but you forgot he “smartly” markets his movie……he uses “strategy” to market.
A Srk would have done world tour with Dangal, but Aamir knew that the movie belongs to India and Indian people on the ground level. Hence his strategy was to play low key and only concentrate on marketing it at ground level and no over the top media marketing.
Currently we Indians are proud, even if it is not huge, but the achievements of our sporting talents in Olympics etc., and hence we are currently drawn towards such movies……success of Sultan and Dangal are proofs for the same. Aamir knows this better.
No one understands the pulse better than Aamir when it comes to audience taste. Hence, Aamir deserves whatever success has come to him. But, please don’t compare Salman. He is only involved in shooting and only goes to promote wherever the makers send him, and strictly on his terms.
Aamir is naturally smart, while Salman is naturally likeable among the masses……both using their innate talents or god gifts to their best.
