7:30PM Evening Update: FAN has picked up at multiplexes in the evening on Saturday. Since the film is not performing at smaller centres and single-screens, it needed a big jump at multiplexes, which hasn’t come as of 6PM in the evening. Unless business escalates quite significantly in the night, the film is looking at a drop of around 5-10% on Saturday, which would mean Day 2 total of around 17 crore net.
There were two IPL matches today, one at 4PM and the other at 8PM. It remains to be seen what sort of impact it has had and will have on business today.
Morning Update: Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN has taken a slower start on Saturday morning as compared to the occupancy for the morning shows on Friday. This is normal for a film featuring SRK in the lead, because a lot of people watch his films ‘first day first show’ on the day of release.
The average occupancy at multiplexes on Saturday morning is about 15-20% lower than Friday (which was a partial holiday for Ram Navami). The evening / night shows on Saturday will be crucial, because it’s for these shows that multiplex business peaks.
For FAN, multiplex business at cities has become even more important because mass centres and single-screens are not performing due to lack of appeal (no songs, no leading lady etc). The reports from smaller centres aren’t very positive either. So the fate of the film is dependent on a good hold on Saturday and big growth on Sunday.
FAN will also be competing with the ‘The Jungle Book’ which is on a phenomenal record-breaking run at the Indian box office. The film has already collected Rs 83 crore in 8 days and should cross the 100 crore mark by the end of its second weekend. ‘The Jungle Book’ is also likely to become the highest grosser of the year, ahead of an acclaimed multiplex film like ‘Airlift’ which did business of Rs 128 crore net.

Stop spreading lies. FAN reviews are outstanding so far. ‘Mixed’ reviews result in 2-2.5 out of 5. FAN critics score is 3.53 out of 5. Much much closer to Kapoor and Sons, NEERJA.
If you are not interested in watching than dont watch. But just because you are not getting daily dose of masala witih ‘jabra’ song and item number and female lead, dont pretend you are interested in seeing FAN in cinema.

SRK the best actor of his generation should just waste away his talent behind CE, HNY, DILWALE.
This is so much fun. Full masala, Full Masti, Bromance, item songs, no acting, copying remakes and still getting score of 2 stars out of 5 stars just to cross 200 cr. 300 cr 400 cr.

That’s quite a step backward. Expected something a little more or at least same margin with Friday collection.
Though would want it to earn more but honestly around 18 cr is something which I am also expecting today.
These figures on weekend are fine with me as long as it doesnt show a big drop on Monday. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

An 18 crore figure will be decent..but then again Sunday becomes an important one..if it crosses 22 crore on Sunday then a good hold during the weekdays will be in cards..All the best
@Aisha the WOM isn’t mixed.. Its on the positive side.. Yes there is an impression of WOM being mixed, its solely because the bigger the ACTOR the better the movie and the more the negativity is spread by haters.. And for collections and occupancy well We are finding it low because after a long time a movie starring SRK has received critical acclaim and we can’t see it capitalise at the box office because of the appeal I guess more promotions would have been better.. but trust me FAN is surely something which is refreshing for anyone who has ever loved watching SRK on the big screen and ever been mad for someone. U must give it a try strongly recommended..
Fan less than dilwale less than hny less than ce .raees should not be released at all.
17 to 18 crore will be great considering yesterday was a partial holiday and strong competition from other movie. Still it doesn’t matter bcz fan is for fans not for boxoffice. Haters tum nai samjo gy. I will be watching fan 2nd time tomorrow.

The fact is Srk i am sorry to say is not worthy of competing with Salman. I am afraid to say with this movie – ” Fan” the collections will be less than Airlift. Mark my words won’t cross 128 crores of Airlift too…With every passing movie Srk underperforms….Can it cross Jungle book lifetime ? Jungle book is already at 83 crores…i doubt Srk’s Fan can even manage 115 lifetime now….sorry from monday it will crash and won’t even trend as well as hollywood movie with Neel Sethi as leading star…Haha

Critical Acclaimed Fan Struggling on Saturday at box office? How is this possible? All critical acclaim films have shown jump always but fan going down ?? I m very happy. Fan 130-140 lifetime despite critical acclaim !
