FAN has once again shown a big drop in business, as the film has fallen by 27% on Wednesday. Tuesday was a holiday for Mahavir Jayanti, so business was expected to come down, but the drop is still about 10% higher than where it should have been.
To show the downfall of the film, check out the stats below. The business of FAN has gone from record-breaking on Friday to poor levels on Wednesday.
- Friday: Records highest opening day of 2016. In fact, the opening which was primarily due to Shah Rukh Khan’s star power was 55% higher than the previous best opening day of Airlift.
- Saturday: Records highest second day of 2016. Business remains about 5% higher than Airlift.
- Sunday: Highest Sunday and Highest Weekend of 2016. But the Sunday business is only about 2% higher than Airlift.
- Monday: Crash. 3rd highest Monday after Airlift and The Jungle Book.
- Tuesday: Fails to take advantage of a holiday for Mahavir Jayanti, records 3rd highest Tuesday. Collections drop below The Jungle Book which is running in Week 2.
- Wednesday: Fourth highest 5th Day of 2016, behind Airlift, The Jungle Book and Kapoor & Sons. The Jungle Book in Week 2 continues to dominate.
The problem for FAN hasn’t been the star power of Shah Rukh Khan or other factors like genre. FAN wasn’t a completely off-beat film like ‘Swades’ either, it was meant to be a entertaining thriller with plenty of action sequences and emotions.
The bottom line is, it’s the content that hasn’t found appreciation.

the pace of the story moving is quite different from one place to another.
no entertainment means there is no such masala elements like we had seen in dhoom3 and other films in which even chasing scenes and actions are quite dramatic not so silent like FAN.
and last one is it failed due to it’s simplicity because of not having some extra hyped story moves that people likes to see.in words it’s dramatic entertainment in content is almost nil.
while maker’s major fault is screenplay as well as the budget through which they made this film.compared to this big budget,FAN has very less to offer.

People stop with the slating of fan by using it’s bo outcome. Fan is a decent thriller and srk gave one of the best performances of his career, I’m not a die hard srk fan but acknowledge the hard effort he’s put into his character. I hope he gets recognition for his performance so it can shut his haters.
But the makers should take full on responsibilities for the failure, if they knew fan was a risky film why did they make it in a high budget???
