On Gandhi Jayanti, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign through which he requested his fellow countrymen to do their bit to clean the country.
In response, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan said he would be glad to be a brand ambassador for the Clean India campaign and appealed to people to join it.
“I would be very happy if I am given this responsibility,” Aamir Khan said.
The actor was present on Rajpath where Prime Minister Narendra Modi administered an oath to everyone to help keep India clean.
“If there is cleanliness, if we concentrate on cleaning the country, many problems are solved. People’s health improves, the water bodies are clean automatically… So I appeal to the people, every Indian should cooperate,” said the actor.
“I am here to take part because we can inspire our fellow Indians” the actor added.
“It is a beautiful thought that the prime minister has come up with. We must ensure the dream of a clean India is realised before the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi,” he said.

This initiative should be done by every Indian . I am happy that this initiative has been started on the 2nd October which is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi . I hope in some time India will be completely clean .

it is so easy to badmouth srk and praise aamir – and try again to bring srk down. It is upto modi to invite who he likes but frankly the idea of asking salman who has a couple of cases against him – including manslaughter to ” clean india” is so ironic – actually it is so funny. all i can say is good luck to all of them because they certainly do need it and glad to see that pple accept srk as the superstar! i sincerely hope that aamir and salman know how to use a broom though
also it is very important for pk to be shown – interesting to have aamir fans wanting to see a “nude” scene – also very funny – and also not really very clean either. For someone like aamir who keeps talking abt social causes having his poster and a radio covering himself was definitely not very clean either. Too funny for words – to have pm modi choose these 2 “clean” pple to support the cause.
Hypocrite! From 2002 this Aamir Khan used to speak against Modi and those who voted for him, but now that he is the PM, this opportunist has gone on backfoot and is trying to get in his good books! This guy will do anything for his image and to get benefit from government!
