Ek Villain has just completed an outstanding weekend at the domestic box office. The Sidharth Malhotra – Shraddha Kapoor film opened very well on Friday and dropped a little on Saturday. Even though the growth in business wasn’t huge on Sunday, the occupancy was high throughout the weekend.
Ek Villain is only the second film this year, after Jai Ho, to collect nearly 50 cr in its first weekend.
Today, the film has sustained reasonably well at most centres, although quite a few centres where the film opened very well have dropped by 50-60%.

@sid rocks hrithik does not have any crowd pulling factor?? he is one of the 4 actors whose film managed to cross 30cr on a single day!! dat too on the 4th day of krrish3 release… n plzz rakesh roshan is no genius.. the film was mostly copied from xmen and it was strictly average.. fyi dhoom franchise gained popularity because of ‘aryan’ you believe it or not.. people went to see it only because of hrithik’s super act and all the others in the film were simply overshadowed by his stylish performance! As for agneepath, people dont go for a film to watch item songs.. it was the remake factor+a stellar star cast. However, i agree on what u say abt znmd. Keep calm and the kind of opening bang bang gets.. ull hav your answers!

Sidharth Malhotra, who is thrilled with the response to his film Ek Villain, has dedicated his success to Shah Rukh Khan. The young actor reveals that his negative avatar in the film was inspired by SRK’s villainous streak in films such as Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam.
“A lot of people thought it was suicidal for me to play a dark character at such an early stage of my career. But I had a perfect example in SRK, who played negative characters in Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam towards the beginning of his career. So in a way, he inspired me to take the plunge. Back then, he was the romantic hero of Hindi cinema who managed to pull off a negative character with élan. My character in Ek Villain is my tribute to him,” says a proud Sidharth, who also admits that he watched Baazigar and Darr a few times before facing the camera for Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain.
Sidharth also says that the constant talks of comparisons between him and SRK brought out the best in him. “I have a long way to go before I dare to feel like the new age SRK. However, I have to admit that being compared to him is an all-time high,” he says.
Three films old, Sidharth is yet to come to terms with the high-profile world of Bollywood. “I find figures like 50 crores and 100 crores extremely daunting. My films may have fared well but deep down I’m still an average Delhi boy.”
@Sid clone..lol lol lol.. have you forgotten that ZNMD opened low because HR had Kites and Guzarish before it..also Don 2 suffered because of Bekaar.One..despite being a better movie than Bekaar.One..so its normal that the actors latest movie can be affected if his previous movie was a flop/average..there are lot of examples like that..Akki Sir’s Holiday got affected by Boss and OUTIMD..Salman bhai’s Wanted was affected by all his previous flops..Shahid’s JWM was affected by his flops despite hit music and solid promotions.. also Dhoom became a franchise solely because of HR..else why would the whole world compare Aamir Sir with HR and not JA!? Also Riteish has a really long way to go before even perceiving him as a Dhoom villain as HR has raised the bar which even Aamir Sir upto some extent couldn’t match(I am saying this despite being an Aamir fan).. also agree that if Chikni Chameli was the reason behind Agneepaths success, then Lungi Dance is the reason behind Chindi Express success..like that there are lot of movies whose music has garnered good initials but couldn’t sustain..no point in bringing that up..
