Emraan Hashmi’s Ek Thi Daayan was way below trade expectations in it’s first weekend at the box office. After a decent start on Friday, business slipped by around on Saturday. But it was the film’s Sunday business that came as a major disappointment.
Although there was a reasonably good jump on Sunday, the collections were lower than Friday which is never a good sign.
Ek Thi Daayan has fared well at multiplexes in big-cities, but the smaller centres have been below the mark.
Economics: The film was made on a budget of 28-30 crores (including P&A), but the producers recovered 80-90% of their investment by selling the theatrical rights of all territories (except Mumbai and East Punjab) and also various rights (music, satellite). So while Ek Thi Daayan is a profitable venture for the producers, the distributors might incur losses in a few circuits.

- Friday – 6.06 crores
- Saturday – 4.98 crores (18% drop)
- Sunday – 5.93 crores (19% growth)
- Total Collections – 16.97 crores
Considering so many multiplex oriented films..Iron Man, Aashiqui 2 to name a few…. lined up for next Friday, I dnt see ETD going beyond 30cr which makes it a flop!
The film is very good…but i m not understanding why it is bellow the mark in the box office?

Figures aren’t looking good, it’s quite surprising to me because movies of this genre with such a cast have done good business in past. It’s music maybe a reason.
now its clear Ranbir is better then emran and emran does well with sequals only…i mean Rush,shanghai and now this movie
Superflop movie…one of the worst movies of the year…emraan is going down…2 superflops in a row…Rush and now ETD…even ghanchakkar prmos look very average
i don’t know why it happened ’cause i found the movie quite good
Long story made short – It is a flop.
ETD is flop. but ghanchakkar will super hit.

it’s a good film but ipl is going on that’s why i shown a dissappointment i hope emraan should go back to the bhatt camp bcoz of their he’ill keep the blockbuster continuiety.bhatt films are very good to watch and having a very nice and a super story.ekta didn’t have any idea when to release and how to release the film she know’s how to make a film see to ranbir kapoor how intelligent he’s wer d film’ll flop he’s releasing after the ipl….!i love emraan becoz he does real acting and he cares none iss duniya mein sirf saach hi chalega jhutt nahin…………..! yeh alah ka vasta……….!
