Ek Tha Tiger Box Office Opening

Ek Tha Tiger has opened to a historic response at the box-office on Wednesday. The film is most likely to shatter the first day record, currently held by Agneepath.

The response was fantastic almost everywhere, including the Mysore circuit, where the last few Salman Khan films haven’t really opened to ‘earth-shattering’ numbers.

At multiplexes, even early morning (8AM) shows were packed to capacity, recording 100% collections. As the advance booking was phenomenal, lots of people who came to theatres hoping to see the film, had to return disappointed. Some were seen booking tickets for Thursday. That’s likely to be the case over the entire extended weekend, as tickets will be difficult to find, especially on Saturday and Sunday (i.e if the film is liked).

For example, at Big Cinemas in Mangalore (the only multiplex in the city), Ek Tha Tiger is running 11 shows on 3 of the 4 screens – which has never happened before. And guess what – not a single ticket is available for any show on Wednesday. Such is the unprecedented craze.

In Mumbai, Big Cinemas at R-City Ghatkopar, is running a record 32 shows on 5 screens – one show every 15-20 minutes! Even with such a huge release here, the advance booking is fantastic and very few tickets tickets are available for the day.

Overall, we really wouldn’t be surprised if the 30 crore mark is surpassed today. The 3350 screen release in India, is the widest for a Hindi-only release. Since the runtime is just 134 minutes, multiplexes have been able to organize more shows than Agneepath (167 min) or Rowdy Rathore (140 min).

Early prediction for Ek Tha Tiger on Day 1 – 28 to 30 crore!

Single Screens update: There is a festive atmosphere outside several singlescreen theatres. Hardcore Salman Khan fans were seen garlanding huge posters of the actor, breaking coconuts, playing music from some of his older hits, dancing on the streets.. prior to the first show.

Stay tuned for all the EK Tha Tiger Box office updates for the first day on this page!

  • Ek Tha Tiger Obliterates All Opening Records

Ek Tha Tiger opened this morning across India and there are no words to describe the opening. It is simply tearing to shreds all opening records at every centre in India.

In the last few years there has been record breaking films like Three Idiots, Dabangg, Bodyguard and Agneepath but with all these films there have always been centres or circuits that are not record breaking but this is not the case with Ek Tha Tiger, every centre and every circuit is on a record breaking spree.

Its just not new records being set but the margins they are being set by, its impossible to put a number on its opening day business this early but it is sure to smash the opening day record figure by a distance.

  • @saky 2: LIER you did not get the ticket SRK fans always lying all critics give thumbs up, you ALL srk fans are losers that’s all.

  • Taran adarsh gives 4.5 out if 5… Most critics have given 4 with some3.5. I read all of them and does not look like indicine watched the same movie as the others did. Well I was expecting a mixed response from critics and mind blowing response from public but the response is blowing from both sides. So finally we have a Salman khan movie where critics and public agree.
