Eid or Diwali, holiday release matters a lot: Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has delivered blockbusters like Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 during the holiday season, continues his trend with EID this week.

Khan believes choosing the right dates to release films is extremely crucial for a film to be a huge success, as people “die to see” films.

He said: “Be it Eid or Diwali, the holiday season matters a lot. There is no release during Ramadan, so when a film releases during this period, people die to see that film. Again with Diwali being a festive season, people want to go and see the film with family.”

Usually one big movie comes on each festival, but Salman is of the view that “Diwali, Holi, Republic Day, Christmas – they can accommodate three to four films.”

While we didn’t quite understand the ‘three to four films’ part, we wonder if Salman would be up for a clash in the next few years as producers scramble to block their films for festive weekends.

  • @syed shera zeeshan khan- if they want to get a KICK by watching Kick then no harm in it if its durung Ramadan or on Eid- dont be a party pooper- if you want to watch Maya Memsaab on Eid then even thats fine as its your perogative so let others decide whats best for them…!

  • ha ha.so many jokes about KING KHAN. let flopakki and flop lalmir to give 10consistent hit, then face THE KING OF BOLLYWOOD you losers

also see the excuses given by our indicine team on the behalf of salman who couldn’t give even 6 consistent hit even released after 1 year, shame!!!!no comments about flop akki whose moron fans ullu is thinking ouatimd could have a bb,lol.bhai is such a manhooj ho gave even 90lakh film marigold in multiplex era no comparison with ylhjk in which voice of SRK also not given also it was a delayed 90’s release having no promotion still earned 40lakhs.but nothing such happenednwith marigold.so tell what happened to bhai’s stardom in 1st decade if 21at century?,lol.

  • @Syed : heights of double standards n hypocrisy. if you are so concerned about last days of holy Ramadan then WTH are you doing on Indicine. FYI.. . i am a muslim too n will watch Kick on next day of Eid !!!!!!!!!

  • If talaash was released on holiday like Christmas, Diwali or even Gandhi jayanti then still it could have easily crossed 100 crores. So Amir haters take a bow, as we also saw in srk’s case when MNIK couldn’t cross 80 crores in non holiday period.

  • @sss, sarkar has given 10hits in a row! Really? May b u forgot about his buddha(dulha) mil gaya, billu nd recent atbb yeh hai bakrapur. Also ur king’s 150cr’s ratoo point one’s ROI nd was less than Jokomo(darshel safari’s superhero movie). Quality wise it was worse than Toonpur ka superhero. Yes marigold collected only one crore but this figure is 2.5 times more than ur king’s epic blockbuster yljk, which collected huge 40lac net.

  • @tiger,lol on you moron.one thing I couldn’ t understand why lallu fans couldn’t identify the difference between lead role and special appearance.1stngo and learn that, then comment you south dubbing artist fan.

why to hate darshil now?,lol.another happy information for you as you don’t know tingulal has 8 films and lallu has 7films that couldn’t surpass 1cr,lol.while KING KHAN only has 4.so don’t compare the 2nd most flop giving actor Sallu and king of disaster amir with THE KING OF BOLLYWOOD.
