Dum Maro Dum Box Office Opening

With stiff competition from IPL and poor pre-release hype – the films biggest USP was Deepika Padukone’s hot item number – Dum Maro Dum has opened to a below average response at the box office on Friday. The paid preview shows received a dull response and the Friday opening has meant that the film will be yet another failure for Abhishek Bachchan, unless it picks up big time on Saturday and Sunday.

The Friday night shows could be affected by the big Mumbai vs Chennai cricket match and the story could be similar for the weekend, with the nation experiencing cricket fever after the World Cup victory early this month.

Abhishek’s last release Game, that released a day before the World Cup final, was a total washout and Dum Maro Dum could be yet another victim of cricket.

On the positive side though, the Dum Maro Dum Reviews have been pretty good. The film has received a 59 on 100 rating, which clearly suggests that the Abhishek Bachchan starrer is one of the better reviewed films this year.

Stay tuned for regular updates as we are back to covering the latest at the Bollywood Box office.

  • hey….dum maro dum rocks….abhishek was fantastic and those people who r criticising abhishek’s acting they first educate themselves …..u people can only like those stupid movies….u people r dull, brainless chap

  • itne achhe actor ko jo kharab kahega use movie dekhne hi nahi aati, kya acting kiya abhisekh ne ,pata nahi aise log ……….,in first weekend movie collects around 30 crore it’s the bigning of abhi,he could be a great actor like his father the legand amitab h bachhan

  • I watched Dum Maro Dum 3 times. In my opinion it is the best movie to date. I’m not surprised by some of the critics and fans who gave a bad feedback about the movie. I always think that some of the Indian cinegoers have very bad taste of movie choice. They only enjoy watching films with songs and dance and poor quality. wooden actors like SKR and Salman Khan are highly rated in India. Shame. You people are light years behind the western audience. Some of you just need to grow up and move away from worshiping SKR, Salman and Amir khan. there is better actors in India than them. Abhishek is a more versatile actor than them.

  • @Anoup

DMD was a bad movie bhai, cant imagin u watched it 3 times….

    Hats off to you

  • I also like dmd, and i also appreciate that abhi is the versatile actor in bollywood than srk, sallu, akki but amir is better than abhi. As a whole amithab is the best.

  • its the worst film of my life this abhishek should quit ..his looks are aweful and pout disgusting..why doesnt he listen to his sister who has been after his life to stop acting and producing some babies!!!

  • I dont know why people talk about only dancing….if an actor doesnt know how to dance how can people tell he/she is bad in acting….Abhisek is the best actor after his Father…He is the best i like it whether he know how to dance or not He is the best…M waiting more of his movies to come…he should act as in Run or sharkar…wanted should have been act by him…

  • wow abishek is better than khans dam maro dam is fantastic movie and abishek is no. one hero of indian history.
