Dishoom has collected 900,000 dirhams (Rs 1.64 crore) on Thursday in UAE, which is the highest ever opening day collections in the Gulf for a film starring Varun Dhawan in the lead.
The Rohit Dhawan directed film is Varun’s first that has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark in UAE and his all-time second best, only behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale which was a much bigger film featuring a established superstar.
In 2016, it’s the third best opening of the year after Sultan, FAN and Housefull 3. The opening is the same as Akshay Kumar’s Airlift.

@indicine why re u crediting varun for dilwale. Everyone saw dilwale in theaters was only for kajol-srk jodi, rohit shetty, action, comedy. I am 100% sure nobody saw dilwale for varun
