Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time, spoke about the box office performance of his Christmas release, Dilwale. The actor said, the domestic collections of the film were disappointing for him, but stated that he was ‘thrilled’ with how the film has performed overseas.
“I don’t think the film has done as well as it should have. I am personally disappointed with that” Shah Rukh said.
“To be honest, it has perhaps not done as well in India as I would like it to do. But overseas it has done very well in a lot of countries like Germany, Austria. It is quite thrilling that Indian films are reaching far and wide. There is a lot of business opportunities” he said.
In a box office clash, which was touted to be one-sided before release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani surpassed Dilwale at the domestic box office. However, the Rohit Shetty directed film became one of the Top 5 highest grossers of all time in the overseas markets.
And Mr u terurnwale will commit suicide if rice clashes with Sultan..!!!

Non-holiday ? So when was MNIK released ? Eid , Diwali , X-Mas ? MNIK would have crushed all Aamir movies in overseas had it released on X-Mas ! It released on the month of Feb when normally films don’t collect big .
And better don’t talk about big banner ! We all know that SOTY was an Average/Above Average in overseas – which was a Dharma film . And SRK has countless Blockbusters in Overseas without Dharma/YRF …!

@The Venom, again you are making fool of yourself. Read my comment again with more focus I clearly said that “if I apply your logic then srk’s films are multistarrers.” It wasn’t my theory but yours. So first get this simple thng in your head. And MNIK wasn’t off beat movie. It had social appeal and it didnt have a dark thriller genre so it doesn’t matter if it becomes blockbuster because moreover it had a strong content and the dharma banner which you are insulting is the same banner which crossed 180 Cr with no supertaar film yeh jawani hai deewani which also was blockbuster in overseas. So dharma banner is powerful and big banner weather you like it or not. On the other hand talaash had a dark neo psychological thriller genre and very offbeat and beach film which would be a big flop if it had anyone else except for aamir. It was aamir because of which it crossed 90 Cr despite non holiday release and superhit in overseas. It also earned almost same as srk’s out and out commercial don 2 which released on Christmas with the same banner. So compare it to don 2 which was a Christmas release and commercial universally appealing genre with the same banner. So despite all disadvantages talaash was a winner. Let srk star in the same genre and release in same number of screens with same ticket prices and same time in November. I would loveeee to see how much it collects.
