Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time, spoke about the box office performance of his Christmas release, Dilwale. The actor said, the domestic collections of the film were disappointing for him, but stated that he was ‘thrilled’ with how the film has performed overseas.
“I don’t think the film has done as well as it should have. I am personally disappointed with that” Shah Rukh said.
“To be honest, it has perhaps not done as well in India as I would like it to do. But overseas it has done very well in a lot of countries like Germany, Austria. It is quite thrilling that Indian films are reaching far and wide. There is a lot of business opportunities” he said.
In a box office clash, which was touted to be one-sided before release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani surpassed Dilwale at the domestic box office. However, the Rohit Shetty directed film became one of the Top 5 highest grossers of all time in the overseas markets.
@Kaali megastar aamir khan’s talaash was off beat which was hit in India despite no multi staerer and commercial genre. Remember ita megastar Aamir’s talaash we are talking about not sarook’s commercial multistarrer disaster flopwaale.

@Sky talaash was a clean hit. check your facts first. it recovered it’s budget, was huge profitable and was officially declared a clean hit in india and super hit in overseas.

MNIK was an offbeat film too which released in 2010 and crossed 200 crores worldwide ; but Talaash which released almost after 3 years with higher ticket prices and wider release could not cross 150 crores worldwide , lol !

MNIK had big banner dharama and wasn’t off beat movie. it has a social appeal and that’s why it found the audience. talaash was a pure off beat dark thriller and a genre which isn’t popular at all. so stop comparing baseless and be accurate when you compare two completely different films. don’t you even have that much of a shame? I believe in him and his words and will not be disappointed if he does not get any award including National award. However some of his fans and some neutral fans or common public wants Salman to get award for BB because of his performance.
