Disappointed that Yuvraj Singh is not in the World Cup Team: Varun Dhawan

Varun DhawanActor Varun Dhawan has expressed disappointment over Yuvraj Singh not making the cut for India’s 15 member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

“Obviously I’m a big Yuvi fan, so obviously I am sad about it. I obviously want India to do well no matter what. But.. little disappointed that Yuvraj is not in the team despite having scored three consecutive centuries in the Ranji Trophy” he said.

Yuvraj’s all round performance was instrumental in helping India lift the Cricket World Cup in 2011. His career hit a setback after he was diagnosed with a rare form of Lung cancer. The cricketer recovered from the disease and successfully made a comeback to the cricket team. However, his consistent form meant that he failed to cement his place in the squad.

Varun awaits the release of his film ‘Badlapur’, which releases in theatres on February 20.

  • Even in his worst form, he’s better than Binny. He’s leading scorer in Ranji, a platform to get selected in national team, but some pe please in board hate him. They will cry should Rohit, Dhawan, Raina, Jadeja flop in the WC. They have poor record in Australia. Hopefully, Kohli continues to play well and win us the cup.

  • if you dont want watch cricket without yuvraj then dont watch. I was great fan of yuvraj, at times I used tell scores of his first 20 fifties with runs out of balls. Remember all yuvi fans, yuvi even after playing for more than 10 years struggles to play quality spin. India lost T20 World cup because of his inability to face spin bowler. Entire india lashed on him as he is the main culprit. You cant showsympathy on yuvraj that he had come out cancer and had good past record. if it is so then better we can bring kapil dev and sunil gavskar. yuvraj pls write any books or join commentatory like rahul/ganguly
