Dilwale has opened to outstanding numbers in the overseas markets, further establishing Shah Rukh Khan as arguably the biggest crowd-puller outside the domestic market.
Inspite of competition from Star Wars: The Force Awakens (a record money-spinner globally) and our very own Bajirao Mastani, Dilwale has recorded the second highest opening weekend of all time, only behind the 2013 film Dhoom 3.
It’s also the highest overseas opening of 2015, ahead of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. In UAE/GCC, Dilwale has managed to achieve the biggest opening of all time.

if dilwale’s performance is average in india (say 160-170 crores) and if it performs outstanding overseas (suppose 110-120 crores), which makes its worldwide collections to over 260 crores,, will it be considered a ‘clean hit’?

i predicted this wld happen with Dilwale..my prediction was 160 max !!! BM is no saawariya or jaanemann….BM is a big film has the no 1 actress and world popular actress as well , Rising star with SLB as a director…Still Dilwale will mean nothing to SRK ..he will again strike gold with either of 2 films Fan or raees….Still think Sultan will be moved ahead !!! SRK is still massive!!! but 1 thing SRK has to stop this kind of films this films are for Salman nd akshay .. SRK shld be more responsible like Aamir

Amir did content oriented movies which were more popular in overseas audience.Even Lunchbox was a big overseas grosser just because of content.So dont try to be over smart .Although srk is second to amir in overseas but giving all credit of his success to romantic movies is a lame excuse,if srk did romantic movies which is fav genre of overseas audience then how did amir movies perform well in overseas???Its content that sells in overseas thats why salman khan only one BB(only content driven movie of his in recent time) grossed so well.No can make 100 cr with brainless masala entertainer in overseas unless he is srk
