Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 has emerged as the biggest money-spinner of all time – not just at the domestic box office, but also in the overseas markets where it has beaten Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express.
In India, the film showed little or no drop on Saturday which is simply phenomenal considering the fact that the Friday opening was huge. Most big films tend to show drops on Day 2, especially at single-screens. But with Dhoom 3, the drop was negligible. In fact, quite a few centres put up better numbers on Saturday.
Dhoom 3 Saturday Collections
The film has collected around Rs 71 crore in 2 days (including all versions) and looking at the early morning trends on Sunday (packed houses all over) the film is certain to cross the 100 crore mark this evening. Dhoom 3 is also likely to be the first film to do business in excess of 40 crore on a single day.
First weekend business could touch 110 crore, including the dubbed versions. Tuesday is a holiday in parts of the country and Wednesday is a national holiday for Christmas.
However, the word-of-mouth is mixed. While some have absolutely loved the film for its action sequences, Aamir’s performance and Katrina’s dance moves.. the reports coming in from circuits like Mysore and even from a few mass-circuits is extremely mixed, as expectations of strong content is unrealistically high when it comes to Aamir Khan films.
Unless there is a massive drop in business on Monday, Dhoom 3 is set to emerge as the highest grosser of all time. And while doing so, the film should also break all the various records held by Chennai Express and Krrish 3.

it was great film.. Lots of efforts were put in by amir khan ace khan… It deserves atbb status.. As it was better than ce and krrish3.. Its collection should be more than 225cr and 243cr(may be) so lifetime for d3-250 cr..

Wow! 100 crore in a normal weekend! It could also become fastest to 100 crore and highest grosser ever in overseas market by beating all the records of Chennai Express and lifetime record of 3 Idiots. As it has smashed Chennai Express’ opening record (2 days total is bigger than CE’s weekend in some countries) in all the major international markets except United Kingdom.

Of course Aamir is bigger than SRK in overseas. MNIK, Don2 , JTHJ, Ra.One and even CE couldnt break 3 Idiots overseas record.
Dhoom 3 is on its way to become highest grossing Indian film in overseas.
Means the top 2 highest grossing movies overseas belong to Aamir.
Thus proved that Aamir is #1 in overseas :)
Nice film. I want to watch it for the second time to firm my opinion. But the Abishek-Ali introductory scene was out and out rubbish. I wish it was omitted. The way they stripped that rickshaw was not entertainment, it was low class and should not have been in this movie.
Otherwise it’s a good movie, not as brilliant as I expected, but the action lived up to my hopes. At least 100000000000 times better than Krissh:3.

it is a bad film but to get that admission out of you is impossible…and also floating rumours like these and giving movies a positive wom is your job and forte so the truth will never br out… be assured folks it is a bad film and you haven’t missed anything… it is most childish film ever made ..reports are not mixed but onesided that the film is bad
Happy to see the drop is negligible that clearly shows that audience have loved the movie afterall it is a complete package with mindblowing stunts,great action,music,story,comedy,dance,emotions,acting etc

The likes of G.One and Megha, do not know believes whom – both as per BOI & Producer’s figure it has beaten CE, both in India and Overseas.
If public is loving the movie then how big you are an intellect to call the movie bad.
it won’t cross 200cr………Even with 2 open weeks….chennai express collected 228cr with only 6 open days…………….and competition from 3 films……
it’s gonna decline from monday onwards…..people are thrashing it saying it’s more brainless than crap salman khan movies…………..

you all are intelectuals. but I want to say one thing, Dhoom 3 had a story which is extremely good, but the problem is that the film does not entirely rely on story. you expect an Aamir film to be great for the story or high on entertainment, but it had a flawed story. if the film is only stylish and heisty, you don’t feel the flaws. but if you put a story in it, you should make it as much flawless as you can. thats y I liked D1, D2 but not D3.
