Dhoom 3 has collected around Rs 35-36 crore including all versions, as per early estimates, at the domestic box office. The film has beaten the previous non-holiday record of Dabangg 2 (21 cr) by more than 70%.
The first day business was on-par with holiday releases like Chennai Express, Ek Tha Tiger and the fourth day of Krrish 3, which is huge since business hasn’t touched these level on a working day.
Both multiplexes and single-screens were running to 85-90% occupancy throughout the day. The evening / night shows were expected to be affected due to the cold wave in the North, but the film has put up record numbers in Delhi / UP.
Dhoom 3 has set new records in almost every circuit, except the South, where Chennai Express is ahead. The film has collected around Rs 1.9 – 2 cr in Rajasthan and Rs 3.75 cr in Andhra/Nizam (including Telugu version).
There are reports that the regional dubbed versions (Tamil and Telugu) have also set new records, with business of around Rs 3 crore on Day 1.
Yash Raj Films is expected to release the ‘actuals’ in the noon. Stay tuned!

Dhoom 3 (Hindi) had an outstanding day one collecting around 30 crore nett on day one as per early estimates. The film set opening day records in some circuits while in others it was below either Chennai Express or Ek That Tiger. It has to be noted these films released on Eid and Independence Day respectively while Dhoom 3 released on a normal working day. The film smashed the non holiday opening record by a distance.
The film set new highs in Delhi/UP and East Punjab despite the cold weather though the collections for the Hindi version were lower than Chennai Express in the southern markets due to that film having more local appeal for that region. The film also had a release in Tamil and Telugu and that version would have added around 3.25-3.50 crore nett with the Telugu version doing well.
The film should record the highest opening weekend collection ever by beating the 87 crore nett three day figure of Chennai Express.
Watched it last night. Came out with a splitting headache. Last 2 dhoom were way too innovative and fresh. You don’t take anything away with you. Watch the movie and forget immediately. Aamir doesn’t look like a dhoom guy. Because of his height and feminine face cut may be. Acting wise we have great expectations from him but he had already delivered much better performance than this but still kudos to him for taking the pain of learning tap dance and acrobatics. Katrina hadnotjing to do as actor but whatever she has done, that is dance ans look good, she has done perfectly. It would make few hundred crores but first 2 dhooms remains my favorite

I wil b surprised if dhoom 3 surpasses d opening day record of chennai xpress being a non holiday release… Wasnt xpecting dis much.

Going to watch it second time, this time in IMAX..1 time is not enough..I have no words to praise AAMIR’s acting ability…
This film has to become the highest grosser regardless of how good or bad it is. Dhoom is the biggest franchisee in Bollywood. Three open weeks, no competition, a-list actors, most awaited film of the year etc. How can anyone expect standalone film like chennai express to hold onto its records against dhoom 3?

Guys let’s be honest here. Aamir’s stardom is way bigger than srk or hr and at par with sallu (higer at plexes). So Aamir in a fully commercial masala movie was expected to do this much because don’t forget he is the one who started the trend of monster hits.
And the fact about Aamir is that people might think he doesn’t have a crazy fan following but when his movies release then fans of other stars too scamper to watch them.

Dhoom 3 is now an unstoppable tsunami. People were whistling and enjoying the movie throughout it’s entire length in the theatre that i watched dhoom 3.Going for it again on sunday.Hope i get the tickets.
Watched “Dhoom 3” yesterday night.Great entertainer with mindblowing stunts and good story with a good twist.Performance of Aamir khan is just outstanding.Aamir khan proved again that nobody can match him in terms of acting.Great experience to watch “Dhoom 3” in theatres.

Guys do watch “Dhoom 3” on big screens otherwise u will regret later.This movie is meant to watch in big screens only.Watching on TV or computer later will not give that thrill and enjoyment.

Just imaine salman/SRK in D4 and D5 respectively Opening day will 50-60crs + ..

Amir khan don’t break any record, he will create records
Film was exceptional in multiplexes and going by the response, it seems that film will break few records on the way. Film is almost certain to cross 90 cr nett over the weekend and might touch 100 cr nett though 95 cr nett looks more realistic.
Film collected 30.50 cr nett on day one. Film collected close to 34 cr nett including all versions (approx 3.5 cr nett in other versions). In CI, film collected 1.17 cr nett against 1.11 cr nett of ‘Chennai Express’ on opening day. In Rajasthan, film collected close to 2 cr nett which is a new high. Film should smash highest single day figure of ‘Krrish 3’ (35.91 cr) on Sunday but then the real test will start on Monday when word of mouth and such a huge release size will start affecting.
As per early trends on Saturday, film is down at few places and few other places like Mumbai and NCR are holding up well. Overall it seems film should touch 26 -28 cr nett today too but jump over yesterday looks tough. Though real picture will emerge from evening onwards.
Well to be honest CHENNAI EXPRESS released on 3500 screens and D3 has released on 4500 so even if record gets broken by 2 or 3 crores it’s not an achievement for D3

Truth is people would not want to see Thakur doing a Dhoom Machale where he stands in the middle of a mountain range for 5 long drawn out boring yawnafest minutes with his skeleton arms stretched out, back arched and head tilted back. Doing this he will unexpectingly pull any last remaining muscles in his weak fragile smeagol like body…! Lol

dhoom 3 on sat is rock steady so 30 cr is a realistic target and maybe more..! Power of an Aamir film is strong content. ATBB for sure now. ;-)
