Dhoom 3 Box Office Opening

They promised to end the year with a DHOOM and they have! DHOOM 3 has opened to an earth-shaterring response all over at the domestic box office.

Multiplexes have opened to 95-100% occupancy, packed to capacity in most major cities that we tracked. Even at single screens the opening is equally good. In fact there are reports that people were lining up for tickets as early as 6AM in the morning to catch the film first day first show.

It remains to be seen if the film can sustain with such high occupancies for the afternoon and evening shows as films that open big on a non-holiday tend to slow down as the day progresses. Last year’s Dabangg 2 slowed down considerably after a fantastic start.

Also, the cold wave in North India could affect the late evening / night shows.

More on the box office opening of Dhoom 3 soon. Stay tuned for the noon update.

  • No other actor could have played the role of Sahir so convincingly as Aamir did. For others the role would have had to be dumbed down.

Now what if Aamir was the lead of movies like CE. It would have surely crossed 300 cr such is his star power.

No wonder while other so-called superstars shy away from movies like Talaash, it is Aamir’s starpower that drove that dark movie to near 100 cr.

  • LOL in Pakistan even the 2.45 am shows were houseful

  • @fireblade Empire cinema in my town had queues stretching outside and also it was consisted of general all round bolly fans wanting to watch Dhoom 3 first show at 1pm..! FACT

Truth:- OMG film rocked but missed afew portions in the middle but not worried as Im taking the family for my second and their first show tomorrow. I wont spoil the film for those who havent seen it but this is the best movie I have seen outside of India barring maybe ‘Welcome’ from way back in 2007 which had the audience smiling /LOL throughout. Atmosphere was exhilirating even though British fans are generally on the more conservative side and restrained in not showcasing their emotions but the film was edge of your seat stuff so they couldnt help themselves.
Truly great work Team Dhoom…! Kudos to all.
