Shah Rukh Khan – Deepika Padukone in Anand L Rai film?

There are rumours doing the rounds that Aanand L Rai has approached Deepika Padukone to play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming untitled film, where the superstar plays the role of a dwarf.

Deepika, who made her debut in SRK’s Om Shanti Om, went on to do films like Chennai Express and Happy New Year. All their films together have been hugely successful worldwide.

DNA India quoted a source saying Aanand had discussed the film with Deepika and she agreed to be a part film. However, while the makers were unwilling to confirm Deepika’s presence, reliable industry insiders say, the actress hasn’t yet signed the film.

Shah Rukh will start shooting for his upcoming film with Imtiaz Ali in October this year. The film romantic film stars Anushka Sharma in the lead.

The actress was earlier quoted as saying “I am excited that this is an out-and-out romantic film after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Working with Imitiaz is a big deal. I thought of becoming an actor after I saw his Jab We Met. Imtiaz’s films have such strong female characters and that thought was ignited in my mind. When I am having readings with him for this film, I can sense that he is a sensitive and insightful director”

SRK’s other films include Dear Zindagi in November 2016 and Raees in January 2017. Deepika will be seen in the Hollywood film ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati.

Note: This article should be considered a rumour until there is an official confirmation from the makers of the film or the actors themselves.

  • @hrithik-See, I told you na, you can’t just get off SRK’s article, because subconsciously you believe that SRK is far far more popular than Lallu. Where did you read that Lallu got paid more than SRK in Karan Arjun? Share some authentic source. Lallu’s name also came first in Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam but we all pretty well know who was the lead hero and who can’t get any girl of his own. And in DDLJ and KKHH, SRK and Kajol had the same screen space and same importance in the film, they were out and out love story where each one is indispensible for the story, not like the epic Madhuri-starrer family drama. And SRK has never in his life been overshadowed by his costars, be it heroines or other supporting actors. And Kajol in her prime time was never as successful without SRK as Madhuri or Sridevi in their prime time was. Kajol was never considered in the same league with Madhuri and Sridevi(In their prime time, not when they became flop) .I guess you even haven’t seen HAHK at all being a lallu fan. I could easily give him credit even as a supporting actor if he had as much impact in the film as SRK had in Darr. But it’s lame arguing with a Lallu fan. And what bakwaas are you doing about CE??!! If people give so many excuses for success then Lallu isn’t even a star today, since he doesn’t dare releasing outside Eid. How come a hero who gave 6 back to back flops in a decade be considered a star of that decade?!!! THen we can surely celebrate SRK’s Fan becoming a flop. Now just kindly stop your foul argument and get off SRK’s article. I hardly go to Lallu’s article to argue with lallutards since it’s no good arguing with a rickshawala fanbase. Not that I mean that I won’t ever do so. Depends on whether I’m in the mood to open a boring Lallu article or not.
