‘Dear Zindagi’ is showing an excellent trend in its second weekend at the box office. The release of ‘Kahaani 2’ hasn’t had an impact on business, as the second Saturday business of the Gauri Shinde directed film has crossed the 3.5 crore mark.
The film will collect around 57-58 crore by the end of its second weekend and the second week business is likely to be around the 65 crore mark. The release of ‘Befikre’ will affect business in the 3rd weekend, but ‘Dear Zindagi’ should finish a couple of crores under the 70 crore mark.
The trend in the second weekend has ensured that the distributors will recover costs and the film should emerge a ‘hit’ by the end of its second week.
‘Dear Zindagi’ is a hugely profitable film for the producers.

Dear Zindagi Review: Thought Provoking; Meaningful Cinema

First thing first, I didn’t expect DZ to be very entertaining bedelivered theatre. But there are some comic gags here and there to the audiences glued to the story.
As all know, it is the story of Kaira alias Koko, a girl and cinematographer, who had a tough childhood leading her to failures in personal and professional relationships in her adulthood. As she becomes sleepless and her behaviors become irrelevant, there enters Dr. Jahaghir, a highly friendly yet strictly professional psychologist.
He teachers how to overcome troubles in life on her own; maintain different relationships; with families and friends; and stay socially relevant. It’s a simple story but beautifully delivered several messages for one’s life.
Some messages are below.
– When you are not ready to face a problem, don’t face it. Find out an easy option. Just because you or others are of the thought that one can succeed only when he/she takes upon challenge, don’t force yourself or feel pressured to do it. Go easy.
– if you are not happy in doing certain routine job, break the pattern. Try something else.
– To feel safe, you have to let fears in you and around go first.
– Don’t let your past haunt your present to ruin your beautiful future.
– One can only help you in your life’s puzzles but it’s you who have to solve it.
– Romantic relationship is just one of many relationships in life. Don’t keep crying just because that relationship doesn’t work.
– Finally, if you need to further succeed in your life or to fulfill your dreams, go out of others’ shadows if you need to. Genius is about knowing when to stop.
Performance eise,Alia has nailed it. SRK’s performance in line with Swades, Chakde and MNIK. But what only felt awkward was why SRK took 39 days for that role. Or was that a publicity gimmick.
Gauri Shinde delivered once again after English Vinglish. But what keeps a film like DZ apart from other socially relevant films like 3 Idiots, PK, BB and Sultan is that DZ only sends messages with not so much entertainment, while the latter films delivered social messages in a very entertaining way. And so, those messages have been received by many more people as they wider reach.
Thus, I feel films like DZ should be made in line with 3 Idiots and BB so that their messages reach to wider section of audiences? Why to send messages to only a section of audiences?
Everything in the films works except that there is less entertainments. But SRK’s gags were funny and real without his usual hammings.
Strongly recommend!

Maximum per day business can be upto 13Crore when all shows runs to full capacity i.e 100% collection.
DZ attain nearly 94% collection of its full capacity on its first Sunday when it collected 12.5 Crore.
So, first go and learn some basic mathematics because it is next to impossible for any Movie to collect more than 13 Crore if it is releasing on 1200 Screens.
Second thing, generally on weekdays, any movie occupancy remains upto 55-60 % and also ticket rates gets lower in compare to weekends, so average business for any movie which gets a release in 1200 screen will automatically vary in the range of 5 to 5.5 Crore.
