Dara Singh: MRI scan reveals significant brain damage

Wrestler-actor Dara Singh’s condition continues to be very critical. He is undergoing dialysis at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here and doctors say there has been significant damage to his brain.

“His condition is still very critical. MRI is showing significant damage to brain due to decreased oxygen supply to brain when he had the cardiac arrest,” said Ram Narain, COO, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday morning.

“His condition is not good at all,” his son Vindu Dara Singh said.

Dara Singh had been hospitalied on Saturday. His close friends Dharmendra, Raza Murad, Farah Khan among others visited him at the hospital.

Dara Singh, who won the title of Rustam-e-Hind for his wrestling prowess, entered the film world in 1952 with “Sangdil”.

He appeared in various films like “Watan Se Door”, “”Rustom-E-Baghdad”, “Sher Dil”, “Sikandar E Azam”, “Raaka”, “Mera Naam Joker”, “Dharam Karam” and “Mard”. He was last seen in a 2007 release “Jab We Met”.

He has also done TV serials and is best known for his portrayal of Hanuman in “Ramayan”.
