Dangal has just completed two outstanding days, collecting Rs 64.60 crore at the domestic box office. The film has already become the 13th highest grosser of the year, ahead of films like Mohenjo Daro and Befikre.
At multiplexes, the business of Dangal peaked on Saturday night with most shows running at 100% occupancy. The film is now performing even at centres where it did not take a strong initial on Friday.
Sunday is set to be the best day for Dangal and could possibly be one of the biggest days of all time. The extra advantage of Christmas has been negated due to the big holiday falling on the weekly Sunday holiday. But the word-of-mouth of Dangal is terrific, which should ensure a excellent weekend trend and a total of 100 crore plus in just 3 days.
Only five films have so far crossed the 100 crore mark in 3 days (Dhoom 3, Happy New Year, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan). Dangal will be the 6th.
The morning shows on Sunday were running at higher occupancy compared to both Friday and Saturday. At metro cities, some early morning shows were running at 80% plus occupancy, which should only increase further as the day progresses. Theatre sample figures suggest the film is looking at a 37-38 crore total on Sunday.
Dangal is well on course to be a pan-India success for Aamir Khan. The actor has always surpassed trade expectations during the Christmas weekend and 2016 is unlikely to be different.

Aamir is biggest megastar of india as well as overseas. Period. Despite many disadvantages like demonization, non holiday, no mass apeal, new faces, no big director and still it has taken almost 30 cr opening with only few laks less. So aamir is biggest crowd puller. Sultan had yrf+anushka+ masala+ commercial apeal+ partial holiday+music, all these factors combined helped salman to give 36 cr opening. So dangal is way ahead of sultan in terms of opening if we adjust the advantages and disadvantages for both films. Salman is only lucky and his stardom is just overhyped. Without eid and extended weekend his aukaat is nothing. He was the last actor to cross 200 cr after Aamir, srk and hrithik. The problem is that Aamir does way less movies doesnt promote them, and his absence helps recordless star salman. And even srk gave ATHG in eid despite having the worst phase of his career. So Aamir is biggest crowd puller followed by srk. Salman is teesra khan. Period.
I am quite sure it will cross 300 crore.

As everyone knows Hny collections r fake ……srk manipulated opening day & its lifetime collections……so before blaming others first look at ur idols fake collections record……and also i would like to add that hny was one d many crapiest films made by srk……
Dangal always looked a slightly offbeat from its trailer and song promos.Even Indicine said that the interest for Dangal is not what we get to see for ‘event films’.Haters left no chance to criticize Aamir when he said that he’s not a superstar(the most down to earth actor-superstar actually)..they always made fun of Dangal and called it sultan 2.
But Aamir fans never gave a shit because we always knew that our legendary Aamir had a reply for them in the form of Dangal.Hail AK! ?

I watch Dangal yesterday it was awesome movie but if u compare with sultan my personaly view is sultan is little bit better then Dangal bcoz aamir khan should show more scenes and fighting scenes as a young Mahavir Singh Phogat on ring we expect aamir khan Dangal along with his training and in sultan there is more ring fight in the film but nevertheless both are great heroes and both are great movies
Despite of demonetization and no any promotion in TV shows dangal is going to create history. Both srk and salman use their power by promoting movie in each and every sector.
Just take a bow to megastar of bollywood Aamir khan. Largest crowd puller of indian cinema without any masala item song known actress big names. Crossing barriers like a boss.

What I see here the difference between Sultan and Dangal is:
When Sultan release each and everyday what trade and Bollywood sites (like Indicine) predict was high but the Producer figure was different and low….
But in the case of Dangal what trade predict everyday, producer figures are exactly same or high……
Actually YRF messed up Sultan collection…..Everyday they show 2-3cr less collection, which is not the case with Dangal……I mean how can each and every trade person (whether it’s Komal Nahta or Taran Adarsh or Indicine or Bollyarena or any other news channel) can go wrong predicting Sultan collection that too everyday, while they never go wrong before or after Sultan release, sometime they predict 40+cr but the final number given by YRF was way too less (for example 1st day collection of Sultan Trade predict 40+cr but YRF give 36.5cr, it’s a huge difference, no way trade go wrong with such huge margine)……Really hate YRF for this, just to save few money they took away the huge opportunity from Salman…..
Indicine can you please tell us the footfall of Sultan and Dangal in 2nd day (Please also tell us the footfall of Sultan on Saturday), just like you did for 1st day…..I hope you reply……

Biggest superstar from 2008 is Aamir Khan, the biggest Khan. Salman was never No. 1. Even if he does 4 films in a year, still he can’t beat the lifetime figures of highest grossing Aamir Khan film. He only can chase, even in his best phase.
Dangal record is safe untill Thugs of Hindustan comes.
On a side note Im thinking perhaps Dangal should have released a wk earlier n that way take the holiday advantage in wks 2 n 3… hmmm just a thought coz as things stand theres not much adv this yr…!
