Aamir Khan’s Dangal has decimated records in its second weekend. The film has recorded yet another 30 crore plus day at the domestic box office, to take its total above the 270 crore mark in just 10 days.
The numbers that Dangal has managed to put up are unreal:
- The ‘2nd weekend’ collections of Dangal is higher than the ‘1st weekend’ collections of all 2016 films except Sultan.
- The ‘2nd weekend’ business alone would make it to Top 10 highest grossers of 2016.
- Dangal will also become the first film ever to collect Rs 100 crore or more in its 2nd week.
- The 2nd Sunday is higher than the opening day collections of Dangal.
- The 10th day collection of Dangal makes it to the Top 25 highest single-day collections of all time.
The trend is better than both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK, which makes Dangal becoming the highest grosser of all-time, a certainty. Whether the film crosses the 400 crore mark or not would now depend on how it holds up in the next couple of days.
The Christmas – New Year holidays have come to an end, but if Dangal manages to record double-digit numbers over the next 4 days, then 400 crore will be well within reach.
It has to be noted that Dangal still needs nearly 128 crore to become the first film to 400 crore. In other words, the collections after the 2nd weekend will have to be higher than what films like Rustom, Airlift and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story have managed to collect from Day 1.
But with 11 days to go for the release of ‘Ok Jaanu’ and more than 3 weeks for the release of ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’, anything is possible if ‘Dangal’ manages to hold up in the next few days.
Dangal is the 5th consecutive ‘Highest Grosser Of The Year’, ‘Highest Grosser Of All-Time’ and ‘All Time Blockbuster’ for Aamir Khan during Christmas. His previous Christmas releases were Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 and PK.

Finally watched The DANGAL. Had to travel approximately 190 miles but it was extremely worthy.
As a non Indian I felt goosebumps run through me, I just wonder how Indian audience felt. I must admit my growing esteem for Aamir – he is truly inspiring.

I have watched Dangal again yesterday but this time in single screen cinema, the show was house full in advance. The response was outstanding in the theater, even better than multiplexes. Dangal has beaten all the odds against it. Classes or masses, young or old, children or adults, men or women. It appeal to every section of audience with equal magnitude.
I have always questioned Indicine for their biased reporting, Dangal has stronger my this believe for them. The over exciting attitude of them to pulbish LBO on twitter handle to please Salman fans on first day even before knowing the wom, I can never forget. No wonder why they are trolled and abused by some Aamir fans continuously (though I am against their way of expression) but this site deserves this.
No wonder After PK, they are fall flat on their over confident predictions.

Last year have seen some wonderful movies starting from Airlift to Dangal. Its a co-incidence that the two best Cinematic moment in theater came from the First classic of the year to the Last classic movie of 2016.
Airlift – When Indian Flag was lifted on Oman Embassy, the feeling and proud of being an Indian was unbelievable.
Dangal – When Geeta lifted her opponent in Final to get 5 point, the impact was so great that it automatically translated the audience to stand up for National Anthem after then.
These scenes are phenomenal, kudos to makers of both movie.
