On Sunday, there were reports of Chitrangada Singh filing for divorce with her husband of 12 years Jyoti Randhawa in a Gurgaon court.
But the actress, while confirming that she had indeed been to a family court in Gurgaon with her husband, claimed it was for an internal settlement of a property dispute and not a divorce plea.
“It is not true, we have not filed for divorce. We were at the court for the property dispute, an internal settlement. And there was speculation because of that” Chitrangada told the media Sunday evening.
The model-turned-actress made her Bollywood debut in Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi about a decade ago in 2003. Soon after, she took a 5 year break from movies to raise her only son Zorawar.
The dusky beauty made her comeback with Onir’s ‘Sorry Bhai’ and was later seen in movies like Desi Boyz, Joker and I Me Aur Main.
Update: Chitrangada also posted on her Twitter page “The papers have gotten me divorced some 10 times over in the past. It was a visit to the courts for an internal settlement of a property issue. Personal lives should be left alone .. There is little truth in the screaming headlines mostly ..”
