Captain America: Civil War has taken the India box office by storm, continuing the dominance of Hollywood films in India. The market for Hollywood films has witnessed huge growth in the last couple of years and Captain America: Civil War continued that trend by collecting Rs 8.53 crore net.
The first day collections of the film was more than the combined business of all Hindi films – first day collections of 1920 London, One Night Stand, Traffic and the 8th day collections of Baaghi.
In the Top 5 highest opening of 2016, there are two Hollywood films. The opening of only 4 films can be called ‘excellent’, out of which three are Hollywood and one Hindi (Baaghi).

i don’t think it will cross the jungle book lifetime because mogli was a famous indian cartoon character and kids were excited about movie.
The opening day collections of Jungle Book, BVS and now Civil War proves once again that Hollywood movies are taking giant strides in India . I expected the opening to be 10 CR+ . Civil War is generating massive buzz and I will not be surprised if it does 100 CR+ in India . People are focusing towards Hollywood movies and TJB doing more than 160 CR is a huge achievement . It’s not like people are avoiding Hindi movies but Hollywood and Regional movies which are dubbed in Hindi are making their mark which is increasing competition for Bollywood .

This is what happens when most of the films are made by talentless directors like Sajid khan, Rohit shetty and papa-made actors like uday chopra and hrithik roshan.
We need more self made actors like Shahrukh khan and Akshay Kumar.

Considering the pre release hype I think the collections are just decent…it was always expected to do this much.
Last year Avengers opened to 10crs so this should be considered a below par opening.
I underestimated The jungle book’s buzz here,that was the real surprise to me seeing it open at 10crs+.
Don’t think it will do more than 60-65crs.

Rustom will be a bigger success than mohenjodaro for 3 reasons
1.Budget of Rustom is normal while Mohenjodaro has huge budget so Rustom will have a better verdict.
2.Aashutosh is known for making 4 hour long films, people get bores easily
3.Akki is a bigger star and crowdpuller than Hrithik in both classes and masses.
It’s a shame that Hollywood releases are getting a bigger opening than all our Bollywood films this year apart from big films like Fan and Airlift and even Baaghi which was a surprise. This is a very bad indication which should be taken seriously by our filmmakers.

This clearly shows that we need more crowd pullers rather than the top 6-8 actors..Bollywood is in dire need of such stars who can atleast manage a good opening every time they appear on screen..hope the young guns take responsibility..
And the reason why Hollywood films are taking big openings is because they deliver what they promise..they promise a visual spectacle,a hardcore action and most importantly a story to tell..
@Pulley What is the highest crores a Joker movie has done? Hrithik opening day crowds that came out was worth 28 crores. Only in your dreams joker can collect that amount. Between it’s a trade figure just like SIB 18 cr .

I will recommend everyone to watch a film called SAIRAT very well made even it is 3hr long but it is very well made and acted

Hrithik has given disasters like Guzaarish also. Akki does 4 films in a year and still rocking. If Hrithik does 4 films a year they will struggle for 20 cr lifetime.
