Agneepath released on 26th and the hype is extraordinary. The response to the advance booking, which opened at several centers on Sunday, has been fantastic too – at places better than Bodyguard!
So, can Agneepath beat the opening day record (21 crores) of Bodyguard? Our Analysis below
Why Agneepath ‘could’ break the opening record of Bodyguard
- Agneepath is the first big release since Don 2, which released more than a month back. Abhishek Bachchan’s Players did release, but not many watched the film.
- It’s Hrithik Roshan’s first release after the super-success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. And we all know, even his bad films open well!
- The music is a big hit and Katrina’s Chikni Chameli has only added to the hype.
- Bodyguard released after 12PM on it’s opening day (Wednesday), whereas Agneepath will have a full-fledged release this Thursday.
- Like mentioned above, the advance booking is great – which is a clear sign that the opening will be bumper.
Reasons why it may not..
- Hrithik’s has a strong hold over the multiplex audience, but it will be difficult to match Bodyguard’s collections at Single screens.
- Agneepath will have fewer shows at multiplexes due to it’s longer runtime.
- It’s releasing on fewer screens than both Don 2 and Bodyguard.

I find it funny when people say that Hrithik is not SRK or Sallu. Thank god he isn’t, Hrithik is Hrithik, he doesn’t need to be a superstar nor does he need to bring as much money from the box office as KHANS bring in. Hrithik’s fans just want him to ACT, that neither SRK nor SALLU knows. On the other hand Hrithik is just delight to eyes, he actually impersonates the character he plays. And the same hasn’t been done by Sallu or SRK since years(apparently they don’t know how to act). The people who admire Sallu or SRK as an actor, are nothing but cinema-illiterates and we know that in India these Cinema-illiterates translate into most of the audience and hence Khans bring in better money. Personally, I never count or rigorously follow box office updates, instead I count on the performance and Hrithik undoubtedly is one of the best performers, miles ahead of SRKs and SALLUs out there. Opening day will be very short of bodyguard. .something around 16 to 18 crores. .but if content was good it will break record on sunday. .may be it break ra one single day. .but bodyguard fst day record is secured.

So is there any point in talking about how and why Agneepath won’t be able to break Bodyguard records?? it’s already indicating to break the records of Bodyguard and from when Salman’s fans voices are becoming louder?? what was that Salman Khan before Dabbang?? every biggest hit of Salman’s before Dabbang was too tiny compared to the smallest hit of Hrithik. Salman’s fans are overreacting toward Hrithik when Salman was nothing but a loser just before 2010 when Hrithik has been going with full credit since his debut film KNPH, though with some ups and downs, Hrithik has been the most successful actor in the last decade too by giving more Blockbusters than Khans and winning more best actor awards than all the actors. Combined turnover effect of multiplex theatres and single screen cinemas would determine success rate of the movie Agneepath. At the moment, it seems a bit far fetched to break earning records of Body Guard, although Agneepath is made on a wider canvas with greater cinematic ingredients. Moreover, the good film normally does well, but sometimes, lesser budget films take the lead. However, it would appear the competition so adjudged could be close, provided the audience endorse it.
Costs of making the muvie has been recovered even before its release.. Its gonna be the best muvie of recent times… Moreover… If agneepath n hrithik becums succesful.. Then it is the victory of common sense of the nation… !!

We all know that agneepath is a better movie than Bodyguard and Hrithik is a way better actor than Salman. So who cares if it doesn’t break the record, its going to be a hit. Personaly I rather see a hiy mobie from an excelent actor than an all time blucbuster from an actor that still can’t act after over 20 years in the industry. Sorry salman fans but that is the simple truth.
