Few expected 3 Idiots to beat the record set by Aamir Khan’s very own Ghajini, but now, with mind boggling business (an understatement to be frank) all over India at both multiplexes and single screens, the Ghajini record looks beatable.
The weekend collections are around 40 crores nett (62 crores+ gross) including paid previews and the movie would need to further add 25 crores over the next 4 days (Monday – Thursday) to beat the 65 crore nett first week collections of Ghajini.
With many schools, colleges and offices closed during this extended Christmas – New Year weekend, the collections are expected to remain very steady in the next 3 – 4 days.
Nothing, not even the hike in ticket prices has affected the opening of 3 Idiots, infact it has only contributed in increasing the weekend collections.
Overall, 3 Idiots is the biggest weekend money spinner ever and Aamir Khan is the biggest star in the country. Period.

Three Idiots has Monday collections which are just unparalleled and unimaginable. The early indications are that the Monday business is in the 11-12.50 crore range. A more accurate total will be given when more figures are available later.
The drop from Sunday is marginal in the 5-15% region and business looks likely to be higher than Saturday. These figures take you back to the single screen era when blockbuster films did not drop on Monday but that was with 300 theatre release, here Three Idiots is doing it on 1100 theatre release. The four day total including paid previews is likely to be in the 51-53 crore nett region and as trending like this has never been seen in the multiplex era, there is no point in predicting week or lifetime business as sky is the limit.
The two things that are certain are that the film is an All Time Blockbuster and will emerge the biggest grosser ever.

It gets even better for Three Idiots as Monday now looks to be at least 12 crore nett. The range for Monday seems to be 12-12.75 crore nett as more collections come in.
The collections are just a bit lower than Friday and Sunday but higher than Saturday. An early estimate for its nett collection in India until the end of business on Monday would be 52.50 crore nett.
This includes paid previews, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

GHAJINI each & every scene is Faaarrrr faaaarrrrr better than 3 Idiots. & if u don’t think like this, then its ur mistake.. GHAJINI Deserves to be No. 1 forever as aamir khan had worked so hard in Gym for that, And atlast but not least ghajini have ASIN the superb and greatest actress of all time. So she is any day better than combination of Kareena, Madhavan & Sharman Joshi. And she is equally important behind the success of GHAJINI…..
