Brothers has sustained better on its 5th day at the box office, as the drop from Monday from the centres that we tracked varied from 5-10%. At some centres in the Mumbai circuit, where it was a holiday for Parsi New Year, the film managed to show some growth. So it remains to be seen what sort of impact this has made on the overall collections of the film on Day 5.
Business continued to be poor at metro cities, where the film has completely failed to perform. It was only on 15th August (holiday for Independence Day) that Brothers put up comparatively better numbers at urban centres.
The Akshay Kumar starrer is heading towards first week business of around 70 crore. The film will be competing with smaller releases like ‘All Is Well’ and ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’ this weekend. It still has a chance of crossing the 100 crore mark, depending on how well it performs on Saturday and Sunday.

I don’t know why i see a lot of negativity around Akshay Kumar nowadays, i have been following Indicine since 4 years or so, have never seen any actor being subjected to so much abuse on social media, respect the man at least, he has worked his ass off to reach the position he has today, unlike a sallu, an Ajay, Aamir or Hrithik, he never had a filmy background and also from 2006-2010, all his rubbish including TMK,housefull,blue,KI etc were taking bumper opening at the BO, between 2006-09 he also had 9 off his 12 movies either hits/blockbusters/super hits, he does deliver a hit every year, even Salman had this extremely difficult phase from 2004 didn’t he??, movies such as Marigold etc were a complete washout, i guess everyone goes through a difficult phase but it is the humility with which you appear as an “XYZ”;s fan that makes all the difference in the end, all i am saying is maybe Akshay dosen’t deserve as much flak as you guys are giving him, he is a good actor and gives his all in all his movies, but still people like Navin,Ultron,tiger etc have some problem with him that beats me, i normally do not comment on Indicine, but was prompted to do so today, sorry if i hurt anyone :) cheers..please publish Indicine

‘Manjhi’ & ‘All is well’ will have good run at the B.O especially ‘All is well’ as i feel that it will be a surprise hit of the year and Manjhi looks very exciting , it all comes down to the number of screens both the movies would be getting .
Brothers is all set to become the biggest disappointment of this year at the BO and though on one hand I feel sorry for akki on the other hand I am happy that his few of his stupid fans like ‘babaji -the ullu’ & ‘sunny Leone chachi ‘ deserve all this , but don’t worry there is another movie coming this December which would be a much bigger disappointment at the BO than brothers , Rohit is coming with his ‘crapshit wale’ this dec so akki fans don’t feel so embarrassed srk fans ki baari hei

. Why is it that Khan films open so big and the rest of the films so less and are they actually that much bigger stars than the rest as the opening day collections suggest?
Ans. They are bigger than the rest but not as much the collections indicate. That also has a lot to do with better well chosen projects and the best periods of the year for release. The others never get these periods so have to do with the best of what is left. But this won’t change quickly as they have monopoly on those three major release dates of the year so its either someone with the right project challenges them or they make mistakes with their big festive releases which opens it up for others.

Watched bhojpuri brothers today…
It has left us with half feelings. It felt like the story was incomplete…
The director, Karan, was confused and ambiguous. He is not sure what he is trying to say/do with the film, whether he is trying to make a film on martial arts or family dramas… In an attempt to try to do both at the same time, he has failed miserably.
I have some questions after watching it:
1- Why has Jackie become a drunkard?
2- Why does Jackie continue to be a drunkard and irresponsible father even when his wife has accepted Monty, his son from his illegal relationship with another woman!
3- Why does Monty become a drunkard? There might be reasons but they are not show.
5- At the end, the situation of the girl for whom David (her father) takes part in MMA is not shown.
6- And many others!
These all are hard to digest.
The only plus points in the movie are the martial arts tournament, R2R. Yet, its not exciting like real sports because it’s so predictable who will win.
No suspense or thriller, no comedy!
Karan Malhotra sucks big time!
Jacqueline has a small role but she does justice.
Both Joker Boy and Sid have done very good jobs!!!
