Brothers has shown a huge drop in business in its second weekend at the box office. The film has collected Rs 6.1 crore, which is poor for a big film starring Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead.
The 10-day total now stands at Rs 78.8 crore and the film should finish with lifetime box office collections of around 85 crore.

Brothers collection has been disasterous after first weekend. 69cr in 10 days, lifetime about 75-77cr.
Its been a bad year of Akshay Kumar, as none if his film cross 100cr, and SIB too won’t cross 100cr as far as the trailer suggest. I think GIB will remain his highest grosser of the year with 87cr collection.
Baby- 82cr
Brothers- 76cr.
Sib- same around these three.

biggest problem right now is his 3-4 films per yr policy .
indian box office has changed drastically in last 2-3 yrs . 4-5 yrs ago it was very hard to think of film crossing 200cr domestically but with few films crossing tht mark in last couple of yrs ( 3i in 2009 1st to make it to 200cr ) and PK and BB crossing even 300crs , bench mark has gone very high . today if any films frm khans fail to cross 200crs will b considered underperformer . thts how big the box office mark has been set now .
so he has to b very careful bcoz 70-90crs 3-4 films a yr would have been considered very good few yrs back but now its disappointing and if he keeps releasing his film every 2-3 months forget abt 200-300crs he’ll struggle to get past 120-130crs mark.

Drishyam 8 9 10 days collection more than all akshay movie besides baby. @sunny chutia tell me why movie sites are bashing brothers? Because of its free non competitive run @box office for 2weeks with 2 big holiday! Remove independence day then it shows brothers was moving to disaster verdict! When Drishyam was released the collection of BB was already around 260-70. How manage it reached 320? Because it was still very strong at box office wendrishyam was released! Same with bahubal. I havnt seen for a long time a wednesday collection more than a Monday collection if not for drishyam. Don’t compare drishyam with baby rather talaash. Family suspense genre okay. Talaash does 93 drisham let’s say 78. That’s the closeness of the only outside superstars we are always talking about ,not matching the khans but quite close. For megastar Aamir to give 93 crores and Ajay to give 78 just shows you how big Ajay is with a good script. I bet you in life if akshay was to do a family thriller like talaash or Drishyam just expect nothing more than 40 crores maximum!!
