The Telugu film ‘Bahubali 2’ aside, the Hindi Film Industry doesn’t have much to show so far this year. The biggest hit of the year so far is Varun Dhawan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, followed by ‘Hindi Medium’. The other clean-hit this year is Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Almost all other films have under-performed, with the industry’s highest grosser – Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees – just about managing to cross the 130 crore mark at the domestic box office.
All eyes, yet again, will be on Salman Khan and his much-awaited Eid release ‘Tubelight’. The track-record of the megastar during Eid is outstanding to say the least. All his films from 2010 (Dabangg) to 2016 (Sultan) have been blockbusters or better.
Each year the industry looks forward to the Eid period to get its biggest grosser and Salman, in the last 6 years, hasn’t disappointed. (Note: Shah Rukh Khan took the Eid weekend in 2013 and delivered the industry’s highest grosser)

It’s a foregone conclusion that ‘Tubelight’ will beat the record of ‘Raees’ in 5 days or less to become the highest Hindi grosser of 2016. But the big question is going to be the difference. The last couple of years have been phenomenal for Salman, both in terms of the opening as well as the lifetime collections of his films. Even a film like ‘Sultan’ which carried average word-of-mouth and did not trend as well as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, went on to collect 301 crore at the domestic box office.
If the emotions in ‘Tubelight’ work, then we could see yet another film this year that could challenge the record of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’.

Can’t understand WTH all are criticising #indicine for calling Sultan a average WOM movie! Sultan collected only 70cr after its extended weekend run. While movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Pk, Dangal etc collected 220-280cr after their weekend run. These things clearly indicate that Sultan’s WOM wasn’t that great. It worked big time in weekends due to Bhai’s stardom only..

I am expecting 600 crs at indian boxoffice from the so called megastar as 500 crs is already dislodged by a regional star prabhas.. lets see by what margin this megastar beats a regional star..
Tubelight will be a Superhit or above even in worse case scenario..
However, henceforth every film will be compared to what Baahubali2 has done in Indian box office and unfortunately no hindi film in near sight looks to replicate the same..

After the BO collections of baahubali2(510cr+nett hindi version only) all salman movies collections looks small… this eid he has to at least better his collections i.e. beat bajrangi bhaijaan collections….otherwise he’s well behind…only called holiday star..
Without EDX.. highest BO collections of india (hindi version only) YJHD followed by TWMR… without holiday there’re no star in bollywood…. jungle book is the ATG without EDX
The eid weeknd is created by Salman Khan himself so no one even dare to release any movie on eid….srk tried onces but fails to hold that date….A man of Srk status even back out from Salman Khan …….Its itself makes a Huge statement & Glorify the stardom & dominance Of Megastar Salman Khan

Another Eid and another blockbuster. This guy is a blockbuster machine. Hats off. God knows only when he will slow down.
TBH not planning to watch the movie (though mind may change after seeing reviews/WOM like what happened in Bajrangi Bhaijaan case) but still good to see it is time again for his fans to celeberate and also for the industry.

Those who are comparing SRK movies are illiterate, they should know that Dilwale, Raees, Chennai Express ( clash with OTIM 1 week after) have clashed with big films. Do Salman have guts to clash and release on non holidays…the answer is no… Salman is just fooling audiences by releasing solo on Eid so audience have no other option but to watch lallus film forcefully. BB was a good movie but rest were all crap by Salman, too much emotions makes bored and TL looks to me nothing but a bored movie which could collect same as other Salman’s crap movies released during eid and holidays…

Sultan was a every chance to beat pk ..i’m still unhappy with YRF they gave wrong collection of sultan otherwise it is easy to beat pk.

SRK has 10 blockbusters according to BOI. INdicine update your box office analysis. Remove KKHH and include Disasters like NIshchaiy, Sangdil Sanam and CHandra Mukhi like Disasters in Gangu Teli sallu’s filmography. ANd don’t block this comment. You always block anti-sallu comments. Post it..!!
