Box Office Collections of New Releases

Mere Dad Ki Maruti: Opened poorly at the box office on Friday, but surprisingly is the best reviewed movie of the week. The film is expected to put up better numbers over the weekend. First Day box office collections: 1.25 crore

Jolly LLB: Starring Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Amrita Rao, Jolly LLB got the maximum screens on Friday, as the film was carrying fantastic pre-release reports. After a slow start on Friday morning, business picked up from noon onwards. There was tremendous hype around director Subhash Kapoor who was recently signed to direct the third Munnabhai film. Of the three films this week, Jolly LLB performed the best at the BO. First Day box office collections: 3 crore

3G: The super natural thriller, with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan in the lead, was a non-starter at the box office. Even though the film got ‘average’ reviews from the critics, it was clearly the worst reviewed film of the week. At places the response was so bad that a few shows at multiplexes had to be cancelled due to no audience. First Day box office collections: 0.75 crore
