Akshay Kumar’s Boss has opened to a phenomenal response all over India on Wednesday. The first day business is likely to be around 15-16 crore, as the film has taken a great start at single-screens and managed to sustain well throughout the day.
In fact, at single screens, occupancy for most shows was better than Rowdy Rathore and comparable to major films like Chennai Express and Ek Tha Tiger. For a film that released during the pre-diwali period and amidst all the Bakrid celebrations, the opening has exceeded trade expectations.
Multiplex business has been slightly under-whelming, but the audience response to the film is generally positive. So unlike Besharam a couple of weeks ago, Boss is likely to take advantage of the extended 5 day weekend.
When the final collections come in, the first day collections of Boss could well be better than the combined opening day business of Akshay’s last two films Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara and Special 26.
The film has performed well in most circuits – West Bengal, Mysore (and Mumbai in the morning) were comparatively lower than other territories. Mass-dominated centres like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, C.P and C.I have been outstanding.

Watched the movie. Full on entertainment.The first half takes time to develop/introduce the characters, AK’s entry is exactly at 30 minutes, from there on the graphs of the movie goes higher…and reached the height in the second half.Climax fight is the highlight. not a single dull moment in the second half…. in fact the movie moves at amazing speed in this half. songs are placed well…except the duet between shiv and aditi…as that time we were expecting AK’s entry. Ak’s entry was the best….after long time saw an intro like Akshay in and as BOSS.Movie is show case of AK’s star power…and he is in full form…from action..to comedy to emotional scenes. The dialog hum ko to bas pani nikalna hai…came 4-5 times in the movie…stand out for me was when AK told that dialog in front of Shiv…when Shiv asked him what about your emotions…it came straight from heart.AK and Mithoon’s father-son chemistry was superb. Ronit Roy..for me KD pathak of Adalat was awesome. Do not be surprised if we see more of him as main villain in near future.other’s were first rated. the guy who played son of the minister was really funny…so called kachumar kekda by AK. Overall the movie is good to very good. Single screen this will be bumper and will stay for 2-3 weeks for sure..till krish3 comes. Repeat value is there in the movie. Not sure how this is gonna perform in metro multiplexes…as historically masala genre starts slowly in MP. But good news is family audience will come in big numbers for this one…but how big time will tell….as prediwali period is usually not that lucrative. for me a 3.5 starrer. Will rate it higher then all other AK’s masala/comedy movies in last 3-4 years…but slightly lower then RR. Extended weekend should be somewhere around 70 crs….first 9 days around 90-95 range. Final figures should cross 130crs…will be happy if it goes higher then this.

This is just khiladi 786 kind of movie………max 70crores…mark my words…..All hopes on Krish3 and Dhoom3. will they break Chennai express total collection??. It all depends on word of mouth and content of the film… eg is Dabangg 2 reached 100 crores in 6days but just managed 140crores lifetime….but Ek tha tiger also reached 100 crores in 6 days but made 192crores. This means Star power is only for first 3-5days max after that only Audience will decide and not the Star value. At present scenario, Even u give talaash or besharam kind of movies to SRK or Salman, it will easily reach 100 crores atleast….because they are called SUPERSTARS!!! Even Aamir khan is not a superstar, his movies works only for the script otherwise we all know his STAR POWER during Talaash movie- cant even cross 100crores with solo release…

As per boi first day collection is 11.5 crs. But i dont follow that crap site. But akki fans are great followers of that site bcoz they used to say 101 crs for jthj and 208 crs for ce. So for them 11.5 crs for boss opening day.
yesterday went see the movie k-786 is much better film thn boss..trust me guys i like srk and akki both…film is nowhere neaR h.f-2 or RR…waste of time…if i stayed at home i end up watching excellent run chase by virat and rohit..bad luck…

I watched the movie, and it it is amazing. Far better than akki’s last movies in 3-4 years. Have a go and you would certainly enjoy it.
