Boss has collected around 12.5 – 13 crore on its opening day at the box office. Single-screens were good throughout the day, but like we have mentioned time and again, 75-80% of business still comes from multiplexes, out of which a huge chunk comes from big city multiplexes.. it is at these places where Boss has under-performed on Wednesday.
In a circuit like Mumbai, the opening was low on Wednesday morning, but business did pick up in the afternoon and the film looked set to collect at least 15 crore all-India on Day 1. But several factors could have gone against the film – like the India vs Australia cricket match, next day (today) being a working day and the genre of the film (hardcore action), meant that the late evening and night shows at multiplexes were below the mark.
Still, the first day business is disappointing to say the least, because Boss released on a national holiday, was promoted very well, had fairly popular music and was expected to collect around 16-17 crore on its opening day.
However, the Day 1 business is about the same level as Grand Masti, which also means that the film has to sustain well today onwards. If Boss drops by 40% or more, it could struggle to put up big numbers in the long run.
So many EXCUSES! But the truth is that Akshay is not in the SuperStars League, even a worst movie like #Besharam collect a big amount on opening day.
I am not Akki haters but just telling the facts.

cant say anything about D3,but K3 will be winner at Boxoffice,it will attract family audience ,so weekends will be huge (not great it will be huge)………so expecting 200cr,if WOM will pe positive then little below or above CE collections………….But D3 will lack the family audience……….

Feeling bad for him, but the cause may be overdose of movies releasing.
Same was the case with Mithun & Govinda in 80s. They did overdose of movies. Public becomes tired of watching movies. After attaining stardom you have to maintain it by creating hype around your stardom, with so many films releasing one loses its uniqueness.
Any way, still I feel it will do business of around 100 crores and + or – 10 crores.
Ghanta BOSS is a SureShot winner……People are loving it…..SRK and Salman fans have dis tendency of pulling Akki and Hritik down…..Who cares movie is collecting….!!
rowdy rathore made more money and hugely promoted movies like ra one and jab tak hai jaan . raone had huge budget solo diwali release and grand promotion with music same goes for jab tak hai jaan . still rr made mroe money than jab tak hai jaan and ra one. if you leave aisde chennai express jsut one movie lol fir dekho .

@ravi raone was rejected still it collected 120 cr and jthj realsed with sos ,so minimum 30-40 cr ka loss ho gaya.and your akki’s biggest successful movie RR collected only 138 cr and srk’s average movie collected 120 cr so who is superstar
Akshay’s recent movies didn’t open well, but sustained well through out the weekdays. so boss won’t be a flop.
I am an Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar but have to admit that Akshay Kumar movies have no class and they are crap. 11cr opening for a so called big star is poor. Khan Trio and Hritikh are Super Stars. Aamir shits on Akshays face, and is better than dog and gaylman khan.
akshay kumar never thinks about his stardom he makes movies for his fans and audience just to entertain them not for collections or records even some haters say bad abt special26 and omg which were classy films they say bad just bcoz collection is below 100cr
