Bombay Velvet is set to be the biggest disaster of all time, as the film could finish with lifetime business of around Rs 25 crore.
On Saturday morning, the occupancy was lower than Friday. A few exhibitors have reportedly increased the shows of ‘Piku’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, and decreased the shows of ‘Bombay Velvet’.
The film has collected Rs 5.2 crore on Day 1, which is lower than the first day business of 2015 films like Gabbar Is Back, Fast and Furious 7, Avengers: The Age of Ultron, Roy, Baby, Badlapur, Tevar, Piku and even Ek Paheli Leela.
Even films like Detective Byomkesh Bakshi and Shamitabh, which released on fewer screens, had better overall occupancy on Day 1.
Bombay Velvet will struggle to recover even its marketing costs through theatrical business and the distributors share of the film could be around 12-13 crore! In fact, it remains to be seen if Bombay Velvet can collect as much as the first day business of Besharam (Rs 21.5 crore).

This movie will severely affect Ranbir’s career . He has given a hattrick of flops . All the three movies were bad and were criticized by audiences and critics . At the current moment Ranveer, Varun, Siddharth and even Arjun are bigger than Ranbir . He need to pull up his socks let’s hope Tamasha will be a turning point in his career . For Ranbir to maintain his position needs Tamasha to be a Hit, movie to be good and appreciated by audiences and critics and Ranbir to deliver a strong performance which he has been unable to give since Barfi .
At the time of ROY Ranbir’s fan were talking about power of Ranbir and his charisma. My innocent question for them what happens now? Where that power n charisma lost?
ROY took huge start coz of Songs and Craze of Jaqeuline (which she got after KICK).
Is Ranbir next Vivek or will join Abhishek?
Now at the time of Tamasha people will talk about Imtiaz Ali & Deepika.
Jagga Jasos will join BV & Besharam for sure.
Even telugu movie Legend has more collection than BV……haha
@Shaggy When did I say that Other critics have given better ratings to BV? ? All the critics have given it average ratings. My complain was.. Indicine is not equally-balanced for all films when it comes to reviews.

Shocking numbers ! Bollywood investors needs to be more realistic ! DBB is a period drama but their budget is moderate approx 20 CR’s ! So why BV makers invest so much money on that period drama ! AK’s movies never score 30crs net if I m not wrong ! Then why they invest so much ? Hard to understand ! Hope they recover something substantial!

A film becomes successful due to the script n content n also music sense while ek paheli leela of sunny leone did well yet her kuch kuch locha hai movie flopped badly as it did over 75 lakhs on Day 1 which is so bad so ranbir has to choose the right script as he is a great actor as compared to sunny leone… who is still a newcomer in acting
Dont compare akki to this stubborn kid ranbeer.he get films from big directors and producers whereas akshay makes small directors big with his films. Akshay does 4-5 movies per year from last 20 years and is still succesfull ,that is knoen as power of superstar, if he will do 1 film a year he will easily cross 200 crore… Let ranbeer do 5 films a year and i will see how many of them will be hit… So ranbir roxs dont you dare this kid with superstar akshay kumar… And 1 minute silence for those wjo said it will be a blockbuster … In ur dreams
