Bewakoofiyaan has collected just Rs 7.73 crore in its first weekend at the box office, which is poor compared to similar releases (in terms screen count, star cast, banner) in recent times and also the lead star Ayushman Khurana’s last two releases.
The response to the trailer of Bewakoofiyaan was mixed, the music wasn’t too popular either.. but the biggest factor that worked against the film was the unexpected success of Queen, which almost did double the business of Bewakoofiyaan in its second weekend!
The film has dropped on Monday, but business is about the same level as Friday as it is a holiday in most parts of the country. Unless there is a massive growth in business from tomorrow, which looks highly unlikely, the film is a wash-out for Yash Raj Films as far as its theatrical business is concerned. But overall, with other sources of revenue (Satellite etc), the production house will still make a decent profit out of the film.
